Google rolls out latest Android security patch for these Pixel phones

Google has started rolling out the latest Android security patches for its Pixel phones. The company has updated Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, and Pixel 5 to May 2021 Android security patch level.
The update brings build version RQ2A.210505.003 to Pixel 4a 5G and the Pixel 5. All other devices, on the other hand, will get the build version RQ2A.210505.002.
“All supported Google devices will receive an update to the 2021-05-05 patch level. We encourage all customers to accept these updates to their devices”, says the company.
As always, the devices will receive the patch levels via an over-the-air (OTA) update. It will have a staged rollout and will reach all users in a phased manner.
In other news, Google’s next Pixel phone — Pixel 5a 5G — is expected to be announced later this year. As per online reports, the smartphone is expected to be powered by the same processor as the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G. The handset is expected to be a 5G phone and may be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 chipset. A 9to5Google report said that they have identified the processor of the upcoming phone through code found in the Android 12 Developer Preview 3.
