Inazuma is a vast region full of a dozen islands, all with their unique set of challenges. One of the biggest and most complex islands is Tatarasuna. There is a giant malfunctioning furnace at the heart of the island that is a ticking time bomb waiting to demolish everyone and everything around it.

Naturally, the citizens of Inazuma will turn to you for help, and in the process of stopping a complete island meltdown, you’ll come across one of the most unique domains in the region, Shakkei Pavilion. But before you can take on this new domain, you’ll need to figure out how to access it first. Here’s how to reach the domain, and what to expect once you get inside.

Domain Prerequisites

Although you’ll be able to see the domain’s location after activating the Statue of The Seven on Tatarasuna island, you’ll quickly find that it is impossible to reach it since it is buried inside a mountain. This can be a bit frustrating at first, but you won’t be able to get inside until you have completed the first day in the Tatara Tales quest.

Soon after reaching the island, this quest should become available. After speaking with Xavier near the furnace barrier, you’ll set off to complete a handful of objectives, eventually leading you to use the canons surrounding the main island to blast your way through the barrier. You can see our full guide on this quest here. Once you have access to the cannons, go to the southernmost cannon near the waypoint, and aim it at the side of the mountain where the domain is located. Fire a shot off to blow open a path to reach the domain.

The Three Keys

Traveler and Deluc find key components in Shakkei Pavilion

For most of this domain, you’ll spend your time navigating the pavilion to find the three key components needed to unlock the final room. There are a handful of enemies you’ll fight along the way, and you can use just about any elemental combination to take them down, though it is a good idea to bring a Pyro or Electro character with you as they will be especially helpful.

After entering the domain, go down the ladder and break through the floor at the bottom. You’ll face off against two relatively easy enemies, and then head up the staircase in the room you dropped into. On the next floor, you’ll find a lever on the wall that will lower a ladder when pulled. Once at the top of the ladder, turn around and look back down to find another destructible floor. You’ll come back to this later.

At the top of the ladder, head through the door and grab the first key component at the shrine. Next, look to your left and drop down into the room below to reach the next shrine and key component. After clearing this room, head through the door back into the area where you first lowered the ladder, and drop through the floor. At the bottom, you’ll face two enemies with an electro shield. Click on the samurai armor to deactivate the shield and defeat the enemies. Grab the last key component and take the elevator back up.

Final Battle

Deluc stands before locked door and Beidou fights enemies

With all three key pieces, you’ll finally be able to head through the locked door at the top of the elevator. Once through the door, you’ll face off against a Mirror Maiden who uses Hydro attacks, and a Fatui Pyro agent, who uses stealth and Pyro abilities.

The Mirror Maiden is especially troublesome as she can trap you in place, setting you up to receive massive damage from both enemies. Focus on taking her out first by hitting her with Electro or Cryo attacks. Once she is down, you can use the same attacks to chip away at the Fatui Pyro agent. Once they’re both defeated, you’ll have completed the domain, and a luxurious chest will appear.
