A new trailer and accompanying blog post have revealed fresh details on the next Genshin Impact character, Alhaitham.
Genshin Impact has released a new cinematic trailer and blog post for Alhaitnam, a new character that will be made available in the 3.4 update next week. The scribe of the Sumeru Akademiya will appear in the world of Teyvat once the ‘Caution in Confidence’ event launches alongside another new character, Yaoyao, on January 17th.
Although the teaser trailer provides nothing more than words and a recording of history, HoYoverse has released a lengthy blog post today, detailing Alhaitnam’s story background, talents, voice actors, and personal information ahead of his release. Alhaitham will be voiced by Nazeeh Tarsha in English and Yuichiro Umehara in Japanese, best known for voicing Goblin Slayer in the popular anime series. He previously voiced Eugene Sevenstark in Mobile Suite Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans and Siegfried Kircheis in The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These.
Described as a man who most values his freedom, Alhaitnam is the current scribe of the Sumeru Akademiya with a mysterious identity and ulterior purposes. He is a Dendro DPS character who wields Chisel-Light Mirrors in combat. His normal attack, Abductive Reasoning, performs up to five rapid attacks and players can charge it to unleash two rapid sword attacks by consuming a certain amount of stamina. Alhaitnam focuses on dealing AoE Dendro damage thanks to his versatile moveset combined with Chisel-Light Mirrors.
Alhaitnam rushes forward to deal a certain amount of Dendro damage to nearby opponents with his Universality: An Elaboration on Form talent. He also generates 1 Chisel-Light Mirror when unleashing this talent, giving him access to various properties. For example, the Chisel-Light Mirrors apply a Projection Attack that deals AoE damage based on the number of the Mirrors on the field only when Normal, Plunging, and Charged attacks hit an opponent. Players can use up to three Chisel-Light Mirrors at once.
The new character can also create a Particular Binding Field to deal multiple instances of AoE Dendro damage. Besides, if Chisel-Light Mirrors exit when this ability is performed, they will be consumed to increase the number of damage instances dealt.
Alhaitnam the scribe of the Sumeru Akademiya will be made available as part of the Caution in Confidence wish event, which will start with the release of version 3.4 on January 17th.
