Genshin Impact has had a lot of events released to celebrate the new Sumeru Region, and some of these events have offered some note-worthy rewards.
Players have been offered great 4-Star characters for free in the past, including Collei, and now you have the chance to grab the Electro character, Dori, for free, too. Here is how you can unlock her!
Go To ‘Fabulous Fungus Frenzy’ Quest
To start, you will need to begin the ‘Fabulous Fungus Frenzy’ event to start unlocking your rewards, including Dori. Head to the Events page, and it will be the first thing on there, as long as you are Adventure Rank 30 or above. You will initially be prompted to the location shown above, where you have to take a walk around Sumeru City.
You will then need to head to the Nilotpala Cup Arena in Port Ormos, which you can find in the image above. Approach the group of people, and a cutscene will occur with Kautilya discussing the rules, as well as a cutscene with Haniyyah, who you will team up with.
Afterward, you will have a few instructions pop up that tells you how to capture Fungi. You will then go to the designated area in front of you to catch them. Make sure to equip the Wisdom Orb, which will be under ‘Gadgets’ in your bag. Sneak up on an Electro and Hydro Fungi, and use your Wisdom Orb to change your Elemental Skill to Capture. After you catch them, you will be able to name the two Fungi based on the options Paimon provides.
Then, you will head to the next zone to capture a Geo and Cryo Fungi. You will meet Layla in a short cutscene, and afterward, you’ll head back to the Nilotpala Cup Arena. There, you will have another quick cutscene with Yae Miko.
Head to the Floral Jelly Vendor after your conversation with Yae Miko, and talk to Balfour. He will give you instructions on how to create Floral Jellies for your Fungi to eat. Talk to him again, and choose ‘We want to train Fungi.’ Afterward, you will have to solve a few puzzles for each Fungi to train them. Above, you will find the instructions and every puzzle mechanic used in the Fungi’s training.
Complete Additional Preparation For The Tournament
After you complete the initial introduction to the Quest, go back to the Event Page and choose ‘Prepare For Tournament.’ When you open this up, you will see three different sections that you can complete to earn rewards.
After the introduction to the Quest, you should have more than 1000 Mushroom Currencies. If not, you can complete some more Subquests to earn more Mushroom Currency. You can start under ‘Fungus Capture,’ shown above, which will take you to different areas to capture more Fungi.
You can also go to the next section, ‘Coruscating Potential,’ to gain more Mushroom Currency. Through this section, you can train more Fungi at the Floral Jelly Vendor until you reach 1000 Mushroom Currency.
Complete Special Training
Last, go to the Special Training Section. Once here, you can click the ‘Go to Challenge’ button at the bottom, and you will arrive at the Nilotpala Cup Special Training Grounds.
Once you are here, go into the Training Grounds, and you will be presented with a few quests you can complete. You can start with Coordinated Assault or Zone Defense. Once you enter the area, you can begin the battle by choosing your Active Fungi for your team and then selecting ‘Confirm Lineup.’
When the battle begins, your Fungi will be fighting a few enemies on their own. You will control their Special Skills and aiming. You will see the prompts at the bottom of your screen that show each Fungi’s image and whether or not their Special Skill is available for use. If the image is grayed out, they cannot use their Special Skill yet. If it is not grayed out and doesn’t have a Cooldown number on it, you can use that Special Skill. Make sure to consider each Element of your Fungi on-field and what Elements would work best against your current opponents.
You will also need to remember to pick up Plauditory Protections while in battle. These will be the glowing yellow feathers that appear on the ground, as shown above. They will frequently appear throughout each battle, so make sure to pick them up every time. They will recharge your Fungi’s Special Skill, so you can use them against their opponents to defeat them faster.
Go To ‘Treasure Of Dream Garden’
Once you have completed a few of the Subquests in ‘Fabulous Fungus Frenzy,’ head over to the ‘Treasure of Dream Garden’ section on the Event page. You will need the following criteria in order to invite Dori to your team:
- 1000x Mushroom Currency
- 1000x Fungus Medal
- Completion of ‘The Strongest Opponent! The Biggest Crisis!’ Quest
As discussed before, you can save up on Mushroom Currency and Fungus Medals by completing all the Subquests under ‘Prepare for Tournament.’ Once you have done this, you will need to complete ‘The Strongest Opponent! The Biggest Crisis!’ Quest, which will be the final quest in the ‘Fabulous Fungus Frenzy’ Event. You will have to wait for each Subquest to unlock, which will take a maximum of 3 days. Then, you will be able to complete the final quest, and you can unlock Dori for free through an invitation!
