Genshin Impact’s Formation Estate Domain can be a tough challenge, but this guide can help you.
There are dozens of domain challenges scattered throughout the vast regions of Teyvat. Some require you to make your way through a temple-like format, solving puzzles while battling enemies, while others just get straight to the point and have you immediately going up against a variety of enemy types and environmental challenges in a fight to the death.
After exploring Inazuma for some time, you’ll eventually discover Yashiori Island. The island is home to two domains, one of which is the Formation Estate. While there isn’t any puzzle-solving or platforming in this domain, you will fight some tough enemies inside an unforgiving arena. Here’s what you need to know in order to be the last one standing.
Domain Overview
Since this is a one-and-done kind of domain, there is only one version of it for you to complete. The enemies you’ll be fighting are Nobushi, Treasure Hoarders, and Kairagi. Being that this is an Inazuma domain, it is no surprise that their elemental alignment is Electro. This means you’ll be able to bring just about any elemental-type characters with you, though bringing Pyro and Cryo can be especially effective.
Once you step foot in the arena, you’ll be tasked with taking down ten enemies in total. Typically, you’ll be fighting up to six enemies at once, with more appearing each time you take one out. While you are fighting the enemies, there will also be Electro arrows being fired from the walls in a random pattern. This will add an extra environmental hazard you’ll need to be mindful of.
Domain Strategy
With your Pyro or Cryo character equipped, focus on taking out the smaller enemies first. You can also use an Electro character to put an electrical charge on them before hitting them with Pyro or Cryo attacks. This will cause an elemental reaction, triggering Overload or Superconduct respectively.
At first, the Electro arrows being fired from the walls will be the least of your concerns. They aren’t too hard to dodge in the early part of the battle, but as you start taking out enemies, the frequency in which they fire will increase significantly. Each arrow alone doesn’t do a ton of damage. But they do temporarily stun you and cause you to be affected by Electro, which can really set you up to take massive damage from one of the Kairagi’s attacks. You’ll want to prioritize avoiding them and enemy attacks over getting hits in.
You can fully avoid the arrows if you stay on the far sides of the room that are perpendicular to where they’re firing from. But this will only give you a small space to fight, so don’t try to stay here for too long. Keep an eye on your health, find your openings between each barrage of arrows, and create as many elemental reactions by combining elemental attacks, and you’ll complete this domain in no time.
