The Genshin Impact 4.3 update introduces two new characters, a film event, and a number of convenience improvements. Geo finally makes a comeback with Navia, and Overload gets a much-needed boost with the newest 4-star addition to Genshin Impact’s roster.

The free-to-play game’s next version goes live on Dec. 20, 2023, refreshes the trading card game, and even gives you a new Fontaine theme for your teapot. We’ve outlined everything new coming in Genshin Impact 4.3 below. If you’re after some more Primogems, check out our Genshin Impact promo codes page and peruse the active codes.

The first round of banners features new 5-star Geo character Navia, a claymore wielder who powers up when you collect Crystallize shards. She’s the first Geo DPS since Arataki Itto in 2022 and the first time HoYoverse has done anything with that element since then as well.

Joining Navia is Kamisato Ayaka again, a 5-star Cryo character who uses a sword and can apply Cryo just with her sprint. HoYoverse hasn’t announced who the 4-star characters will be.

The second phase re-introduces two more Inazuma characters – Raiden Shogun and Yoimiya. Raiden Shogun is a 5-star Electro character who increases the party’s energy recharge and burst damage, and Yoimiya is a 5-star Pyro bow-wielder whose skill powers up her normal attacks. She’s nifty, but Raiden Shogun is one of the best Electro characters and one of the best characters in Genshin Impact period. If you’re not keen on Navia or Ayaka, Raiden Shogun is a good one to throw your Primogems at.

Also appearing on the banner is Chevreuse, a 4-star Pyro character who damages enemies, heals allies, and powers up Pyro and Electro characters. She’s the first support unit who can actually make good use of Overload reactions.

Roses and Muskets is the version’s flagship event that centers on Fontaine’s filmmakers. You’ll get a chance to claim a new 4-star claymore that suits Navia well and refinement materials to max out its potential. Itto’s beetle battles return, along with Lost Riches and the chance to get a Fontaine Seelie companion, and Dance of Resolute Will, a combat-focused event.

HoYoverse is introducing a range of welcome quality-of-life updates, including a one-click function that lets you collect your assignment rewards without having to grab them individually, lock artifacts in groups, and see what kind of artifact sets other players are using.

The Serenitea Pot is getting a Fontaine theme, and HoYoverse is adding another new batch of Genius Invokation cards.
