Nintendo‘s latest Direct broadcast has brought Switch players a ton of new announcements, trailers, and even a few demos. One of the best parts of the show, however, was the announcement that Nintendo Switch will be getting original Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games via Nintendo Switch Online and the Expansion Pack service. What’s more, is that fans needn’t wait to get their hands on some of the classics from years gone by as the games were added to the service shortly after the Direct concluded.
Nintendo Switch players with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription will have access to nine original Game Boy games, and there’s even some added functionality by way of various filters. Game Boy games can be played with the original Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, and Game Boy Color screen filters. Additionally, compatible games will also offer multiplayer functionality, either via local play or online, though online is with friends only.
While the nine games below have been made available, more will be released in the future with the announcement trailer showing The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, Pokemon: Trading Card Game, and Kirby: Tilt ‘n’ Tumble as future releases. For now, these are the Game Boy games available to players today:

Likewise, the Game Boy Advance games with multiplayer functionality will also support local and online play for up to four players, with online play again being restricted to friends only. The list of games below is what is available from today, though the trailer also shows other games that will be added in the future, including Metroid Fusion, Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, Fire Emblem, F-Zero Maximum Velocity, and Golden Sun.
