From the Ashes Announced For Nintendo Switch

Remnant: From the Ashes will receive a Switch port very soon.

Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Gunfire Games have revealed today that Remnant: From the Ashes will receive a Switch port early this year. Although the two sides have not given a firm release date for the Switch version, the announcement trailer promises it’s coming soon.

It is worth noting that it’s a little strange to play Remnant: From the Ashes on Nintendo Switch, since the action RPG has a large scale that is better suited for larger screens. However, the good news for Switch users who have not experienced the game before is that they will likely be able to explore its post-apocalyptic world before the summer of 2023. Remnant: From the Ashes was previously rumored to be heading to Switch, as an ESRB rating that includes a classification for the hand-held/home console hybrid surfaced back in December 2021. However, a Switch port was not confirmed by the publisher until today.

“Evil never sleeps – Remnant: From the Ashes is coming soon to Nintendo Switch™! Get the game either digitally or physically at participating retailers and confront the danger as the world has been thrown into chaos by an ancient evil from another dimension”, reads the official announcement. Players have witnessed large-scale games run smoothly on Nintendo Switch before, such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Mortal Kombat 11, and NBA 2K21, so the Remnant port should be another interesting one to see.

Remnant: From the Ashes follows the story of humanity struggling to survive in an apocalyptic world where monstrosities from other realms and alternate realities wreak havoc. Players will explore a dynamically-generated world, which offers a different experience each time players restart their adventures. Survivors must overcome environmental hazards and epic bosses to progress in the story while collecting loot to upgrade materials. In our Remnant: From the Ashes review, we said: “Remnant: From the Ashes is an ambitious title and a fairly unique one at that, it just does not always stick the landing.”

In other Remnant news, Gearbox has announced a sequel to Remnant: From the Ashes, titled Remnant 2, which will feature an expanded archetype system and a wider assortment of guns, special augmentations, and armor sets. It will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC sometime in 2023.
