From a completely new track in Grand Oak Raceway to new details on multiplayer, Turn 10 Studios revealed plenty of new details on the upcoming Forza Motorsport in a recent Forza Monthly stream. During the stream, the developer also confirmed that a few multiplayer features won’t be supported in the racing sim that previous games did support.

For starters, Forza Motorsport won’t feature support for splitscreen multiplayer at launch. According to creative director Chris Esaki, that’s down to Turn 10’s “heavy investment in pushing new graphical features” and the “complete overhaul” of the game’s rendering engine. How long after launch Turn 10 will be adding the feature into the game remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, it’s also been confirmed that the game won’t feature a spectator mode, since Turn 10 doesn’t feel having players take player slots in featured multiplayer events only to spectate races isn’t what it’s envisioned for the multiplayer experience. Similarly, Esaki confirmed that players won’t be able to race against AI opponents in featured multiplayer events either, due to its “potential impact on your safety rating”.

Previously, it was confirmed that Forza Motorsport’s new career mode, called Builders Cup, will require a persistent online connection.

Forza Motorsport is set to launch on October 10 for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
