Fortnite’s new map makes major changes in colorful update

Now that the IO is finally dealt with and the Collider is no more, Fortnite can move on to a new season, which involves major changes to the map. In a peaceful time, this season, Vibin’, brings a more chilled experience, with fun times in-store to contrast the harsh war that has just finished. All of the war-torn terrains from the battle against the IO have healed, and something beautiful has sprouted in its place, making Fortnite in 2022 quite something.

An area of the map that was previously uninteresting is now the place to be, as weird and colorful vegetation has sprouted up all over the place, and the terrain is looking very different indeed. Mushrooms litter the landscape, and trees with a purple hue on their leaves make the place feel more like an alien planet than anything else, and it’s all thanks to the massive Reality Tree.

The Reality Tree

Fortnite Reality Tree

Born from the infamous Zero Point which was uncovered by the IO, a gigantic tree has sprouted and warped all of the terrain around it. Whether this is a blessing or a curse is up to the individual, but it’s certainly a sight to behold. It has sparked joy in most people and triggered the party atmosphere of Chapter 3 Season 3 which will hopefully continue through until the end. Although, some conflict is sure to pop up somewhere along the line.

This tree is more than just a pretty landmark, though, as bulbs have sprouted around it containing Reality Seeds. These seeds can be planted and grown into Reality Saplings, for which we have a full guide, but the short version is that they can earn you rare loot if you take the time to plant them.

Rave Cave

The center of the party is slap-bang in the heart of the IO’s operations. What was once known as the Command Cavern is now called the Rave Cave, where the party never stops. It looks flashier than any location in Fortnite history and is complete with a rollercoaster running through it with ridable Ballers. It would be such a shame to tarnish this area with gun fights, but such is the way in a battle royale.

Tilted Towers

Unfortunately, Tilted Towers was located right next to the Collider, which means it got caught in the crossfire and utterly annihilated in the final battle. However, it has not been wiped from the map and is in the process of being rebuilt. You can expect this area to become fully restored in future updates, only this time without the IO Tanks to ruin the vertical fighting fun.

Greasy Grove

The Reality Tree has made the southwest area of the map a lot more interesting, but some areas won’t be quite so grateful for its appearance. Greasy Grove is one such location that is looking a little worse for wear now the mushrooms, water, and purple residue have taken over the place. The taco restaurant especially has taken a beating, as it was lifted up on a mushroom as it sprouted. On the bright side, they’re great fun to bounce on.
