Augments were one of the newest features added to the game allowing you to have different perks and abilities during matches. While you can’t hand-pick what augments you can get as the choices are randomly generated, there are certain ones that you should pick over others.

DUALSHOCKERS VIDEO OF THE DAY

10/10 Supercharged

Supercharged may not seem like much, but when you have a map as big as the one we have now, you’ll be glad you picked this augment. What Supercharged does is any vehicle that you have won’t consume fuel, and they’ll also have increased health. This affects cars, boats, and motorcycles as well.

There’s a lot of ground to explore on the Chapter 4 map, so not having to worry about restocking for fuel is always a plus. Not only that, but your vehicle will last longer while in gunfights. When you get the chance, supercharge your vehicle.

9/10 Rushing Reload

Fortnite Thunder Shotgun Perk

There’s no denying that shotguns are the go-to weapon when it comes to short-range combat with an opponent. But what happens when you need to fall back for a few seconds and reload? That’s where Rushing Reload comes in. What this augment does is while you sprint it will slowly reload your equipped shotgun.

Having to have your shotgun equipped in order to have the augment take effect can be a bit tedious at times. If you plan to rush your opponent and take the fight to them, then you’ll want to take this augment over everything else.

8/10 Light Fingers

Fortnite Twin Mag SMG

Light Fingers is similar to Rushing Reload. Not because of what it can do to give you an upper edge in battle, but due to the fact that it can come in handy during close-quarter scenarios. Any weapon that you have that uses light ammo will reload faster than usual. This accounts for weapons like the Twin Mag SMG, Tactical Pistol, and others.

Running out of ammo in a fight is no fun, so being able to reload faster will increase your chances of staying alive. If you and your enemy happen to run out of ammo at the same time, we already know who’s going to win—you of course.

7/10 First Assault

Fortnite Red Eye Assault Rifle

First Assault is a good augment, considering that you don’t miss your shot. The first bullet in the magazine of your Assault Rifle deals bonus damage to your opponent if it connects.

The augment itself is perfect as it can really tear into an opponent, however, its only one shot is what’s holding it back from being higher on the list. If you consider yourself to be a dead eye, then it’s highly recommended to pick it up. As long as you reload you’ll have a chance to land that first shot.

6/10 Soaring Sprints

Fortnite Low Gravity Augment

Have you ever had a moment where you needed to get to high ground, but couldn’t find a viable route to take? Well, that’s where the Soaring Sprints augment comes into play. While sprinting if you jump you can not only jump higher, but you also have a low gravity effect.

There isn’t a hill, building, or mountain that’s too high for you to climb. The only thing you have to take note of is that jumping will take a chunk of your stamina away faster than just running so keep an eye out for that.

5/10 Mechanical Archer

Fortnite Bow Augment

Primal and Mechanical bows have made a return in Chapter 4 Season 1 and to make sure that everyone gets a chance to experience these weapons they’ve been turned into augments. The Mechanical Archer augment gives you a Mechanical Explosive Bow and a Mechanical Shockwave Bow.

You have the option of either taking one or both of the weapons with you when they spawn. You can give it to a teammate as well if you have one. Both of them do an exceptional amount of damage and work well if used right.

4/10 Pistol Amp

Fortnite Tactical Pistol

If you pair Pistol Amp together with Light Fingers, there’s no doubt that you will be a force to be reckoned with on the island. This augment gives all your pistols an increased magazine size. It’s not a slight increase either, it’s a big one.

Pistol Amp allows you to shoot for longer periods of time allowing you to have a combat advantage over your opponent. Paired with Light Fingers can increase your chances of never losing a firefight ever again, hopefully. Keep in mind that it only works for pistols though. It won’t work for any other weapon.

3/10 Forecast

Fortnite Storm Augment

Being able to always know where the next storm is going to be sure would be amazing right? Of course, you can always buy that information from an NPC in Fortnite, however, you won’t always find one that sells it. However, with the Forecast augment you can always see the next storm circle.

While this does give you the upper hand on your opponent, you have to plan your strategy around that information. Remember, you won’t be the only person in the lobby with that augment. Use this information wisely if you want to secure that victory royale.

2/10 Chug Gunner

Fortnite Chug Cannon Augment

There will be times throughout matches when you’ll have a hard time finding health items. This can always be a pain especially when you stumble across an enemy or two when trying to run away from the storm. With the Chug Gunner augment, you can receive a Chug Cannon on the spot.

It works like how it always does. You aim, shoot, and get a certain amount of your health and shield back instantly. The only downside to it is you have to give up two of your inventory slots just to hold it. At the end of the day, you’ll be glad that you had it on you.

1/10 Aerialist

Fortnite Glider Augment

Aerialist is by far one of the best augments that you can have in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1. What it does is that it grants you Glider Redeploy for the entirety of the match. No matter how high you are you’ll always be able to whip out your glider and soar across the sky.

This can be applied to so many scenarios. If you’re in trouble, need to run away from the storm, trying to traverse the map, and many other situations. It can also be used to swoop in and eliminate an unexpected enemy. If you see this augment, you need to pick it up 100% of the time.
