This is the first major update for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3. A brand new boss, rebalances, and a bunch more has been included. Yeah, it’s not quite as content-packed as previous updates have been, but the addition of Star Wars’ Darth Vader as a boss encounter is a great bonus.

Darth Vader invades
We already have a full guide on how to find and defeat Darth Vader in Fortnite, so that’s all you really need to know. For those that need an extra breakdown, Vader is a final prize in this season’s Battle Pass, and as a boss he brings with him his Lightsaber and Stormtroopers armed with E-11 Blast Rifles. Yes, you can use those weapons if you can take down the people holding them.
Super style levels added to the battle pass
Hardcore grinders will be happy to find Super Style Levels added to the battle pass. You’ll earn these as you go above and beyond level 140. This will unlock gold and platinum versions of other battle pass skins. Nice.
Reality Saplings nerf
Players were apparently getting too much loot from Reality Saplings. We’d disagree, but whatever. You can use Reality Saplings with our guide, and they’ll drop loot for you. More common loot than before, unfortunately, thanks to these new drop rates:
3 drops for Uncommon or Rare.
2 drops for Epic.
1 drop for Legendary or Mythic.
Audio visual aid changed
The visualized audio compass that appears on the screen instead of stereo audio – if you so choose – is a great accessibility feature, but has had a slight change made. The effective range is smaller, meaning you’ll need to be closer to opponents in order to see their footsteps and movements appear on your screen.
Social tags
Social tags now allow you to make clear how you want to play Fortnite so others can clearly see what you’re all about. A nice easy way to advertise yourself as being happy to join random parties, or if you like to stick to a specific mode or game type.
