Developer IronOak Games and Curve Games have announced the For the King II, the sequel to the turn-based roguelite releases in 2018 For the King.

For the King II is the sequel to the rogue-lite released in 2018. Developer IronOak has announced it will be released in 2023. The Steam page teases players will go against the fanatical Queensguard, risking the threat of treason to bring the possible end to the Queen’s terrible reign.

What is For the King?

In case you missed it, For the King is a party-based RPG dungeon crawler that brings turn-based combat, strategy and rogue-lite features. Use a mix of procedural maps, quests and events as you brave the elements as well as evil creatures. The gameplay focuses on a unique slot system for attacks and unique abilities. Choose when to set up camp for the night, whether it’s a safe spot or to endure the wickedness that comes out at night. The game received a paid DLC called Lost Civilization last year, adding a jungle-themed region, wands, and dual wielding, plus two new playable characters.

For the King II will have a familiar art style similar to the first game, but with an upgraded look

What’s New in the Sequel?

For the King II sets to bring everything you loved about the first game, but now you will be able to party up with up to 4 players in co-op. A number of new biomes will be available to explore, all in an updated art style and accompanied by a brand-new soundtrack. There sets to be a number of character and item combinations. What’s new in this sequel will be more of a focus on strategic decision making, classes, armor and weapon customisation. Players will need to plan their strategy in order to take on the unforgiving combat.

For the King II will include 4 player co-op, new biomes, and more!

For the King II will be coming to PC via Steam in 2023.
