Atsushi Ohkubo’s manga series concluded a few months back, but it isn’t the end of the road for the Fire Force anime series. That’s because, after several rumors, we finally have an official confirmation on Fire Force Season 3.
David Productions released the first season of Fire Force back in 2019, followed by the second season in 2020. The popularity of the anime series boosted the sale of manga, which so far has got thirty-three volumes.
The manga and anime’s story is put in a fictional setting where the entire world was set on fire, wiping out most of the population. Two hundred fifty years later, the remaining survivors created a special squad called the Fire Force. The members of the Fire Force are people with special pyrokinesis abilities, and the story focuses on one of such members, Shinra Kusakabe.
On May 16th, 2022, the official Twitter account for Fire Force confirmed that the anime series is coming back with Season 3. The third season is now in production; however, it’s still too early for the studio to announce a particular release window for the anime’s return.
Interestingly, the season 3 confirmation was accompanied by another big announcement. Apparently, a mobile game titled Fire Force: Enbu no Shō is also in the works. As per the announcement, Mrs. Green Apple is working on the mobile game’s theme song, “En En.”
Millions of Fire Force readers were heartbroken when Atsushi Ohkubo concluded the manga with its final chapter. So, the season 3 announcement comes as good news for fans who want to see the manga’s final act in the animated format. And, of course, a Fire Force mobile game is another good attempt to bring this fantastic manga and anime series to the masses.
