Fire Emblem Engage Expansion Pass Wave 4 Release Date Has Been Announced

Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have confirmed that wave 4 of the Fire Emblem Engage expansion pass will be released on Tuesday, April 4th. The announcement was made via a teaser trailer, which gives players an early look at the new content coming with the expansion, such as new characters, class types, maps, and locations.

Intelligent Systems had previously brought together a roster of playable characters in previous content updates, so the release of the fourth expansion pass was eagerly anticipated. As seen in the trailer, the upcoming expansion features alternate versions of Zephia, Griss, and more. This will likely be the biggest round of content as previous waves were focused on new characters and items. A brand-new story scenario based on the Fell Xenologue will be introduced, with additional three characters making their way to the continent of Elyos.

The fourth round of content revolves around a new story, which reveals a distorted version of Elyos to explore. Alear, the main protagonist in Fire Emblem Engage, embarks on a new journey with dragon twins Nel and Nil to gather seven emblem bracelets. However, players must first complete the sixth chapter and unlock the ability to transform items into the Ancient Well in the Somniel to experience the Fell Xenologoue story scenario. When they reach the end of the story, new allies and two class types, the Enchanter and Mage Cannoneer, will be available for the main game.

The evil version of archer Alcryst also pops up in the trailer with a small tease of her involvement in the story. On the official website, information about the final expansion is scarce; however, suffice it to say that the story will reveal more about axe wielder Nil and spear user Nel. Regardless of whether players are in classic or casual mode, characters will return to the party even after dying in the story. The combat will be more challenging and there will be additional restrictions.

The fourth and final expansion pass features new locations, class types, playable characters, and maps to test out while exploring the continent of Elyos. All of them will be utilized after completing the Fell Xenologue story scenario. Intelligent Systems will likely go in depth about the new content before the update launches on April 4th.
