Square Enix is collaborating with KFC Japan to bring fans a new Final Fantasy fried chicken experience on October 4, 2023. While Square Enix nor KFC Japan have revealed any additional information regarding the upcoming collaboration, the companies did share an image on social media featuring a Chocobo and Moogle silhouette against a red background. These designs for the Chocobo and Google are based on their iconic designs from Chocobo Mystery Dungeon and Chocobo GP.

The announcement for the collaboration was made on X (formerly Twitter) by KFC Japan and can be viewed below:

Square Enix collaborated with different brands for food products over the years. One recent collaboration involved the Japanese chip brand Koikeya, who released special “popoto” chips for FFXIV. The chips sold out at launch and were recently restocked due to their high demand among fans in Japan. Cup Noodle also took part in collaborations for both FFXV and Dissidia Final Fantasy NT in the past. Recently, DoorDash and Taco Bell collaborated with Square Enix to celebrate the release of FFXVI on the PlayStation 5 in June 2023.

KFC is also well known for their collaborations worldwide with franchises like Genshin Impact, Pokemon, and Diablo 4.

The upcoming Final Fantasy x KFC Japan collaboration begins October 4, 2023.
