Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth – How To Get Bahamut Arisen Summon

Everyone’s favorite beam-blasting wyvern is back in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Once you’ve arrived at the Cosmo Canyon region, you should be able to challenge it to acquire its materia. Here’s our guide on how to get the Bahamut Arisen summon in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

How to get the Bahamut Arisen summon in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Your party reaches the Cosmo Canyon region during Chapter 10: Watcher of the Vale. As soon as you arrive, the Bahamut Arisen encounter in the Combat Simulator becomes available. However, we feel that it’s better to weaken it first by analyzing its crystals in the region.

First crystal location and button sequence

The Bahamut Arisen summon in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has three crystals you can activate in any order. Still, due to their respective locations, we’ve opted to organize our guide in a specific manner.

The first crystal is fairly close to the Ancient Baths cache and one of the Remnawave Towers. You need to use the Gliding Range on small hill while riding a Chocobo, allowing the bird to hop onto the ledge in front of a cave entrance. The button sequence for this one is: Square-Triangle-Square-Triangle-Square-Circle-Square-Circle.

Second crystal location and button sequence

The second crystal is all the way in the northernmost portion of the Cosmo Canyon region. There’s a Remnawave Tower there and, beyond that, you should see a tunnel that leads to this sanctuary. The button sequence is: Circle-Triangle-wait-X-X-wait-Circle-Triangle-wait-X-X.

Third crystal location and button sequence

The third sanctuary is in the southern portion of the region. The idea is to reach the Remnawave Tower in the Ancient Ruins, which is done by getting lifted by the air current from the large fan. Alternatively, you may also use the Gliding Range at the highest point of the plateau in the southeast.

From the Remnawave Tower, follow the path that leads to a cavern with a crystal. The button sequence here is: X-wait-Square-Triangle-X-X-wait-Square-Triangle-X.

Bahamut Arisen boss fight

Bahamut Arisen’s abilities cause purple particles to float around and attach themselves to your party members. After a few seconds, these explode and cause tremendous damage. You should also watch out for attacks like Flame Breath, Laser Raze, and Umbral Bombardment. Likewise, its melee attacks like Soaring Slash and Whirlwind Slash can be nullified if you manage to cripple its wings.

We suggest making use of Synergy Skills and Synergy Abilities whenever possible. That’s because these remove the particles themselves, while also pressuring the boss and causing it to get staggered faster.

Synergy Skills and Synergy Abilities should be used as often as possible to pressure Bahamut Arisen.

Bahamut Arisen abilities when summoned

With Bahamut Arisen defeated, you should be able to equip its summon materia and make use of its abilities:

  • Summon Cost: 2 ATB once the summon meter is fully charged.
  • Umbral Bombardment – Fire an array of magical orbs that send out shockwaves on impact; costs 2 ATB.
  • Infernal Rush – Unleash a combo attack on a target; costs 2 ATB.
  • Ultimate: Gigaflare – Deal a massive amount of non-elemental magic damage.
Bahamut Arisen’s Gigaflare is a sight to behold.

As you can see, the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Bahamut Arisen summon can be tough to use primarily due to costs (i.e. summoning and casting abilities). Still, it packs quite a punch, since even its regular melee attacks are fast and hard-hitting. In any case, you can learn about other powerful entities in our all summon materia guide.

A grand adventure awaits you in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. We’ve got all the tips and strategies for you in our FF7 Rebirth guides hub.
