Amid the madness of announcements at The Game Awards 2023, Square Enix has reaffirmed when the PS5 exclusivity periods for Final Fantasy 16 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will end. As spotted by @IdleSloth84_, the trailer for Final Fantasy 16’s upcoming DLC, Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide, has noted that the base game isn’t available on other formats until December 31st, 2023.

It continues to follow the six-month exclusivity period touted before its launch. Meanwhile, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s theme song trailer reveals that it’s not available on other formats until May 29th, 2024. Since it launches on February 29th, the three-month exclusivity period announced in September is still valid.

Note that this doesn’t necessarily mean both titles will be coming to Xbox Series X/S, but it could indicate when their PC versions will launch. Final Fantasy 16 producer Naoki Yoshida already confirmed that a PC version is in the works, though he didn’t provide any release window.

Square Enix hasn’t announced a PC port for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but it seems inevitable, judging by Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Intergrade. As always, stay tuned for more details in the coming year.
