Exotic Engram focussing in Destiny 2 Season 21

In previous seasons of Destiny 2, Exotic Engrams would auto-decrypt into a random exotic; with Season 21 almost upon us, a new system is being implemented. Players have always complained about the difficulty of acquiring previous seasons’ exotics. Not only do they have excellent stats and rolls, but also, you got to think about the drip. With the new exotic engram focussing in Destiny 2 Season 21, you can get the style you always wanted.

Previously, Exotic Engrams would reveal themselves on pickup, but that system is now changing. As with most other Engrams, once they are picked up, they must be brought to the ever-placid Rahool for decryption. This is where you can focus the Engrams into something a little bit more your ‘style.’

Of course, for nothing, you can just decrypt the Engram for free and get whatever the random selector throws at you. However, for a price, you can start to focus the Engram on either a particular body part from a specific year, or for even more, you can focus exactly on the piece you want.

Exotic Engram focussing option 1

This option costs less at only one Exotic engram, one Ascendant Shard, and 30,000 Glimmer. Additionally, this will allow you to select a particular slot for a specific year and roll for it. The price to focus your Exotic Engram in Season 21 is a little steep, but if you’re committed to the fit, it’s well worth it.

Exotic Engram focussing option 2

You will have to sacrifice one Exotic engram, three Ascendant Shards, 60,000 Glimmer, and one Exotic Cipher for the more specific roll. The high cost will provide you with a particular item from across the whole game history thus far.

A final word on the new system

Of course, Bungie has raised the amount of Exotic Engrams that can be carried by four. Therefore, you can now stack them for Exotic Engram focussing in Destiny 2 Season 21. Another thing to note is that you won’t be able to focus new items. You will have to grind for the current season still.
