MAPPA finally released the much-awaited Part 3 of Attack on Titan Season 4, which was definitely a delight for the entire anime fandom. However, the Japanese animation studio did leave everyone craving for more. The third part didn’t put an end to Eren’s story, and the fans will have to wait for another part to witness the conclusion.

Initially, MAPPA wanted to end Attack on Titan’s story in just three parts, so Part 3 was supposed to include around eight episodes; however, the production for the anime took longer than expected. So, the creators at MAPPA decided to further divide the remaining story (and deliver third part as one-hour-special) so they could at least give something to the viewers who were waiting for the anime’s return since last year. And now that everyone was watched the brilliance of Part 3, they are looking forward to the next part.

Immediately after Part 3’s release, MAPPA confirmed on its official social handles that Attack on Titan would return with Part 4 in Fall 2023 in Japan. The Fall anime season starts in October and usually lasts till December, so fans will have to wait at least seven months to experience the ultimate end to Eren’s journey.

Since part 4 is months away, the studio didn’t reveal any specific release month or date, but we can expect to learn more about the upcoming episode in the coming months. That being said, MAPPA did release a short video teaser for the upcoming part. It doesn’t have any characters or fight sequences; instead, the teaser takes us to the clouds while also featuring a voice-over, which, honestly, is more than enough to get us thrilled for the fourth part.

How Many Chapters Will Part 4 Adapt?

Part 3 of Attack on Titan Final Season adapted four chapters from the manga series — Chapter 131 (The Rumbling), Chapter 132 (The Wings Of Freedom), Chapter 133 (Sinners), and Chapter 134 (In The Depths of Despair). Hajime Isayama ended Attack on Titan’s story with a total of 139.5 chapters, so MAPPA still have 5.5 chapters to adapt in Part 4. So, if you wish to read the manga from where Part 3 left off, you should start with Chapter 135.

MAPPA had to make Part 3 1-hour long to tell the events of four chapters, so if Part 4 also goes with a single episode, it’s safe to assume that it will be even longer. Either that or the creators might decide to go with two episodes instead of one. And since MAPPA skipped some manga moments in Part 3, they might adapt those events in Part 4. If that happens, getting two 45-minute-long specials as part of Part 4 is a possibility. Regardless, MAPPA hasn’t confirmed anything as such, so it’s best to take this with a grain of salt and wait for any official information from the creators.
