After starting off as a second-party studio for Sony, Supermassive Games really broke out and found their niche with 2015’s interactive horror game Until Dawn. This led to the now annual Dark Pictures Anthology series of games that have been releasing since 2019.

While each of these games have tackled different horror sub-genres, none have quite matched that level of ’80s horror film campiness like in Until Dawn. That is why Supermassive Games developed a true spiritual successor to the game with The Quarry. Like Until Dawn, The Quarry features a large cast of characters that are central to your experience with the game, which means you’re likely going to want to know just who is playing each one. For this list, we have provided the nine playable characters first, following by other important characters in The Quarry.

DUALSHOCKERS VIDEO OF THE DAY

13 Laura Kearney – Siobhan Williams

The Quarry begins by introducing Laura and her boyfriend Max, who are two camp counselors that get lost on the way to camp after arriving one night early. One of the two playable characters introduced in the game’s prologue, Laura is voiced by English-born/Canadian-raised Siobhan Williams.

Williams broke onto the scene in the Canadian television series Heartland and has had steady work ever since. This is not her first voice acting job or even video game job, as she has previously voiced characters in the Dragalia Lost video game and the Beyblade Burst anime series.

12 Max Brinly – Skyler Gisondo

Max is Laura’s boyfriend is initially the one driving them to camp one day early before they run into trouble. After being warned by the sheriff to go home, the two do not listen and move forward. Max is voiced by actor Skyler Gisondo, who has had a steady career since the early 2000s.

His first multiple-episode stint on television was The Bill Engvall Show and more recently has been on shows like Santa Clarita Diet, The Righteous Gemstones, and The Resort. You may also know him from appearances in movies like Booksmart, the rebooted Vacation, and Licorice Pizza.

11 Kaitlyn Ka – Brenda Song

Kaitlyn is the first of the batch of counselors that actually do make it to camp to start, with her pining after the mysterious Ryan. She is never afraid to speak her mind and often leads to trouble among the counselors. Those who grew up watching Disney Channel as a kid and now are playing The Quarry will most certainly recognize Kaitlyn’s voice actress as the Disney darling Brenda Song.

Probably best known for the Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Song has been acting since the mid ’90s as a young child. She was not one of those actors that stopped as they got older either, as Song has continued to act in shows like Dollface and even showing off her voice acting chops on Amphibia prior to The Quarry.

10 Ryan Erzahler – Justice Smith

The object of Kaitlyn’s affection, Ryan seems more interested in listening to podcasts and being a bit of a loner, though he does have the closest relationship of the group with the owner of Hackett’s Quarry, Chris Hackett. Voiced by Justice Smith, he has a great interest in horror stories and thus organically introduces some of the past stories that happened at the camp into the story.

Smith is a relative newcomer over the last decade or so but really has found himself in some major roles in the years since. His largest roles came in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Pokemon: Detective Pikachu in back-to-back years, while also continuing to lock down roles utilizing his very unique voice.

9 Emma Mountebank – Halston Sage

The most confident of the bunch, Emma is an actress that takes the opportunity to live stream to her adoring fans online. She can come across as a bit of a tease to summer fling Jacob, but she is much more than what she appears on the surface as portrayed expertly by Halston Sage.

Sage spent most of her early career on the big screen with movies like Neighbors and Paper Towns, though she has made a major shift towards television over the last five or so years with starring roles on shows like The Orville and Prodigal Son.

8 Jacob Custos – Zack Tinker

Following Emma is her summer fling Jacob, who saw said fling as much more than just that. He comes across as the meathead jock of the crew, but really is probably the most vulnerable of the bunch as the game goes on. This would not have come across anywhere near as well if it wasn’t for his voice actor Zack Tinker.

Zack is one of the newest actors in the cast, not having an acting credit until 2015 in some small roles. While he does have a lot of roles on his resume at this point, the majority of his acting career has been spent on soap operas such as The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives. He also had a role in the first few episodes of the most recent season of ABC’s Big Sky, so he may be one to watch moving forward as he gets larger roles.

7 Abigail Blyg – Ariel Winter

Abigail, mostly known as Abi, is the shyest of the crew who has a big crush on fellow counselor Nick. She is almost always drawing something or doing something else artistic, which she uses as an outlet at times to avoid social interaction. Ariel Winter manages to play this role very well, showing Abi’s anxieties interacting with so many people, especially her crush Nick.

Out of the counselors on this list, Ariel Winter easily has the most impressive resume of the bunch. She started acting at a very young age, including her biggest role to date as Alex Dunphy on Modern Family which she started at age 11 and played for 11 seasons. Winter has also done a lot of voice acting over the years, even including game roles like Young Kairi in Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep and a Moogle in a few Final Fantasy games.

6 Nick Furcillo – Evan Evagora

Coming To Hackett’s Quarry all the way from Australia, Nick is probably the nicest of the counselors. You can tell from watching him that he also likes Abi as well, but also a bit too shy to actually dive all the way in and ask her to be more than friends on his own. After finding out he was from Australia himself, the crew asked Nick’s voice actor Evan Evagora if he wanted to keep the accent.

Evagora is one of the least prolific actors on the cast list, with him not getting into acting until the last few years. His biggest role to date has been on Star Trek: Pircard, but that is pretty much it besides The Quarry and an episode of the Australian rite of passage soap opera Home and Away.

5 Dylan Lenivy – Miles Robbins

Screen Shot of The Quarry Dylan

The final of the playable counselors, Dylan is almost the male counterpart to Kaitlyn as a sarcastic guy that has his own unique sense of humor at times. Like a number of other characters, he seems pretty stereotypical early on in the game, but voice actor Miles Robbins does a fantastic job at portraying a shift towards his real personality as the game goes on.

Robbins comes from a very famous family, as his parents are Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon, but he proves that he does not just get acting jobs through nepotism and instead is impressive all on his own. He has gradually gotten bigger roles over the years, including movies like Blockers, Halloween, and Daniel Isn’t Real.

4 Chris Hackett – David Arquette

Screen Shot of The Quarry Chris Hackett

Owner of Hackett’s Quarry, Chris Hackett starts the game ready to take his camp counselors home after the summer. However, car trouble as a result of a character’s stupid decision leads to him freaking out, warning the counselors to stay inside all night long, and driving off in his car for assistance. This role is played by arguably the most well-known member of the cast in David Arquette.

Arquette is best known for his role in the Scream franchise, while also starring in numerous movies like Never Been Kissed and Eight Legged Freaks over the years. He also had a run with WCW as a wrestler that was very well-received at the time and even did some voice acting in the early 2010s with Captain Jake and the Never Land Pirates. Arquette is also largely connected with actress Courtney Cox too, as they were married for over a decade.

3 Sheriff Travis Hackett – Ted Raimi

The first non-camp counselor that we come across in the game, Sheriff Hackett warns Laura and Max to head home and not go to Hackett’s Quarry a day early. This early mystery is carried throughout the game and the developers found the perfect actor with horror staple Ted Raimi.

Ted Raimi is the brother of director Sam Raimi, with Ted often being used by his brother in his films. He had a career-long before that though, starting back in the ’70s and still finding his way into films and television today. It’s very likely you’ve seen him in something over the years at least, including the Evil Dead franchise, all three Raimi Spider-Man films, and the fan-favorite Joxer on Xena: Warrior Princess.

2 Jedediah and Bobby – Lance Henriksen and Ethan Suplee

Screen Shot of Jedediah and Bobby In The Quarry

Jedediah and Bobby are two of the most shrouded-in-mystery characters for a good portion of The Quarry. From the first moments we are introduced to the duo, we know they are not ones to mess with and are out hunting something in the woods. As further talk of their characters would be very spoilery, we will leave it there besides discussing their respective voice actors of Lance Henriksen and Ethan Suplee.

As the oldest member of the cast, Henriksen naturally has one of the longest resumes of the bunch that dates back all the way to an uncredited role in 1961. Roles like Bishop in the Aliens franchise have defined his live-action career, but he also has some voice acting experience as Kerchak in Disney’s Tarzan. Suplee has definitely had a very different trajectory of films from Henriksen, as his have typically been more in the comedic corner over the years. He has a mix of television and movie experience, including roles in My Name Is Earl, Remember The Titans, and several Kevin Smith films.

1 Eliza – Grace Zabriskie

Screen Shot of The Quarry Eliza

The final entry on the list is The Quarry’s narrator known as Eliza, who shows up very early in the game as a ghost in Laura and Max’s car before it crashes. Between each chapter, Eliza will give tarot readings that try to manipulate you into making certain decisions along the way. The game needed someone with a voice that could be very cold and menacing, which Grace Zabriskie provides.

Zabriskie has been acting since the late ’80s and hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down either. She is probably best known for her role in Twin Peaks as Sarah Palmer, along with a number of other David Lynch projects. Fans of Seinfeld will also remember her as the mother of George Costanza’s deceased fiance Susan across a number of episodes.
