Developer SCS has suspended the release of Euro Truck Simulator 2’s Heart of Russia expansion.
The Euro Truck Simulator 2 expansion has been in the works for a while new and, according to SCS’s statement, was about eight weeks away from being completed. However, the developer has chosen to pull it, because of Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine and while it’s not been permanently canned, it’ll only see the light of day when, according to SCS:
“.. the time comes for Ukraine to rebuild and heal, then we will endeavour to find a way for our Heart of Russia DLC to play whatever part it can in that healing process, for everyone.”

If you’re unfamiliar with Euro Truck Simulator 2, it tasks you with delivering parcels, cargo and more across Europe. It was released about eleven years ago and has since received a sequel, American Truck Simulator but it’s also been receiving a steady of flow of content, including new locations, since then.

It’s also an amazingly chill experience, particularly if you play it properly and don’t just Grand Theft Auto your way to your destination. You can, technically, still visit Russia, but the Heart of Russia expansion was set to let you drive deeper into the country. That won’t be happening any time soon.
