Enotria: The Last Song A Summer Souls-like Releases June 21st

The sunny souls-like Enotria: The Last Song has been announced by developer Jyamma Games to be launching on June 21st 2024. The game will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Along with the announcement was a release date trailer showing what this “summer” souls-like will bring to the table with its unique Italian folklore setting. The trailer not only showcases its stunning visuals but what I think is going to be one heck of a soundtrack.

The Last Song

In case you missed it, Enotria: The Last Song is a AA+ game about great pageantry, adorning different masks gained from defeated foes. Playing as the Maskless One, you’re the only one who can determine your “destiny”. Sounds ominous, but the challenge comes with defeating the “Authors” who are here to stop the world from being free and causing great “stagnation”. By gathering the power of Ardore will you truly find your way out.

Canovaccio is a play that has altered the world’s usual rhythm, placing it in an “eternal” theatrical performance. Ardore translated into English means “heart” or “warmth” so maybe we’ll be using the power of the sun in some way, truly praising the sun like in Dark Souls.

Italian Souls

The Action-RPG Enotria: The Last Song gains its look from Italian folklore, taking on a much brighter appearance than its souls-like counterparts such as Lies of P or Elden Ring. The title features expandable playstyles, where you can adopt further talents through the Path of the Innovators. These talents slot into the Masks to create custom builds, encompassing theory-crafting and making swapping playstyles less of a chore.

You may notice the game has a warmth of glow, instead of the usual dark and dank visuals. The game even has Miracle Pesto which adds that extra Italian flavour to the stunning themes it entails.

One Mask Does Not Fit All

Players have access to three different custom load-outs at one time. Each can be tailored to your needs, letting you change out when needed, and gets rid of the heavy burden of respeccing. Through the power of Ardore, players can unravel secrets, solve puzzles and find new ways to traverse the world. It also can come in handy in battle.

The posture system means unleashing devasting riposte attacks to gain an Awakened buff. The game encourages chain kills and switching between Masks to gain different boons that are suited to different opponents.

What’s a AA+?

As it’s a AA+, it rests somewhere between a AA and AAA title, but may end up a little more elevated than your usual AA games. Combat will be interesting to see if they nail that balance of flexibility while still posing a nice challenge.

Enotria: The Last Song Pre-Orders

Two editions will be available the Standard Edition for $49.99 and the Deluxe Edition for $59.99. The benefit of pre-purchasing the deluxe edition includes 72 hours early access, a digital art book, soundtrack and digital art book extracts. The edition also has an exclusive weapons set, upgradeable materials from weapons, masks and lines. Gain an extra Miracle Pesto (which is the besto), Hymn of Vigor and Armonia Sap, plus access to upcoming downloable content.

Hopefully, Miracle Pesto bestows players the same healing powers it has in real life. Could it be the secret to restoring Ardore?

Enotria: The Last Song will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on June 21st.
