Emmerdale viewers know Nicky Milligan (played by Lewis Cope) is living a double life and is not in love with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) as he is actually gay.

However, Gabby still has no idea about his sexuality or that his secret father Caleb Milligan (Will Ash) is making them get married for his own financial gain.

On Tuesday’s instalment of Emmerdale, Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) met Nicky and her daughter Gabby at The Woolpack for a drink.

Bernice told Gabby and Nicky: “This wedding, is there anything else which needs doing as it’s soon upon us?”

Gabby asked Bernice if she could walk her down the aisle and she was honoured to do so.

“Let’s face it, it will probably be the last time I walk down an aisle,” Bernice sighed.

“Four failed marriages are not my fault if 50 percent of my husbands turned out to be homosexual. People need to be more honest before they say I do.”

When Bernice asked Nicky if there were any skeletons in his closet, he awkwardly laughed and got more drinks from the bar.

As he walked off, Bernice shared: “He’s got gorgeous skin Gabby, are you sure he’s not gay?”

Her comments caused Emmerdale fans to believe Bernice might be the resident to expose Nicky’s sexuality ahead of his wedding day.

Matthew penned on Twitter: “50 percent of Bernice’s boyfriends and husbands turned out to be homosexual… Suddenly as this conversation starts Nicky’s eager to make very swift exit.”

Hannah Louise shared: “No way. How am I only realising Gabby is marrying a gay man just like her mother!”
