Lex Ruins may be a little harder to conquer than you think in Elden Ring. Well, here’s a guide to help you out.
Quick Links
The Lux Ruins are a location in Elden Ring’s Altus Plateau, crawling with Demi-human enemies and an easy boss that you can dispatch for lots of runes, and where you can find both a unique Ash Of War, and Talisman.
In this guide, we’re going to let you know where to go, all the enemies you’ll find, what treasure you can loot, and how to beat the boss.
Location
The Lux Ruins are located in the Western Altus Plateau, a short distance from the Grand Lift Of Dectus. The nearest Site Of Grace is Altus Plateau. There is another Site Of Grace at the foot of the hill on which the ruins sit, Erdtree-Gazing Hill, and the ruins actually extend down here, but none of the treasure or the boss are accessible from this area, so make sure you approach from the Altus Plateau Site Of Grace.
Entering The Ruins
As you approach the Ruins, you will find a ruined cart on the way. This is a Demi-Human ambush that you can avoid if you stay well clear. As you approach the main building of the Ruins, there will be a Lesser Demi-Human Chief with double knives coming down the slope. These can hit very hard and cause Blood Loss, so be careful. There are another two smaller Demi-Humans on the lookout outside the building.
Inside The Ruins
Inside the main ruined building, you will find three Demi-humans asleep and a couple more on patrol. Around the edges, there are several more Demi-Humans who are easily aggroed if a fight spills in their direction. There are two treasure items here, a String and Rainbow Stone.
There are a few more Demi-Humans at the back of the Ruins. In a small ruined area on the rear-right is a Teleporting Scarab. If you can dispatch this, it will drop Ash Of War: Shield Crash, which is an extremely fun and quite powerful skill that lets you charge toward enemies with your shield and smash them. It can be used on any shield. Just behind this, in another small ruined building, is a small knife-wielding Demi-Human. This will sneak attack you for large damage if you are not careful.
Fighting Demi-Human Queen Gilka
With the ruins clear, you can easily access the Boss portal by going down the steps at the rear of the ruins. The Boss is Demi-Human Queen Gilka, one of two Demi-human queens in the game.
Gilka is pretty easy for all classes, as she staggers very easily and will occasionally stop attacking to shield herself (not very effectively). She starts the fight as though casting a spell but then tries to smack you with her staff instead. After that, her attacks consist of some swings and bites from the front that are easily dodged. If you get in close to her, striking toward her legs at her rear, you can easily inflict a lot of damage and stagger her — Gilka will drop 8,500 Runes on defeat.
Once Gilka is down, you can open a door at the back of her room (this can be difficult to find in the dark, but it is directly opposite the stairs) that leads to another small room containing a treasure chest. This contains the Ritual Sword Talisman, which raises your attack power by 10% when your HP is full.
