A Quality (Strength/Dexterity) Build that focuses on the use of the Ghiza’s Wheel Colossal Weapon for optimal damage.

Elden Ring Ghiza’s Wheel Build – Equipment

The first thing I want to talk about is the Ghiza’s Wheel. This is a colossal weapon that was showcased in one of our videos. One thing I would like to discuss is its weapon skill, as it doesn’t function the way you think it should. When you use it on an enemy by holding L2, it hits them over and over, but the game considers it as only one attack. This means that it won’t trigger buffs of items such as Winged Sword Insignia or Millicent’s Prosthesis. It also doesn’t trigger Bleed build-up, as one full rotation would do maybe 10%-20% of the build-up, so you’d have to hold it for a very long time to trigger Hemorrhage on enemies. This makes the weapon skill pretty much useless, as you’re not going to be able to go up to an enemy and hold it.

However, if you use the R2 attack, either one-handed or two-handed, the blades will spin at the end of the attack. It’ll trigger extra ticks for Bleed build-up, which will also proc the buffs of the talismans and even the Thorny Cracked Tear. These are what you want to go for, as the one-handed moveset makes the weapon spin in front of you, compared to the two-handed moveset that makes it spin behind you.

This Elden Ring Ghiza’s Wheel Build will focus around using one-handed R2s and charged R2s in order to deal increased damage to enemies, and to trigger talismans like Rotten Winged Sword Insignia and Millicent’s Prosthesis. You’ll also do Bleed build-up to gain a damage boost from Lord of Blood’s Exultation. The primary damage of this build will come from the R2 attacks, not the weapon skill.

Since we’ll be using the weapon one-handed, your offhand will be free to use for a shield. There’s no reason to have a second weapon when we’re using this build. You can use a greatshield which can do block counters. For this build, we’ll be using the Jellyfish Shield. This boosts your damage by 20% with its buff, and it has a very low FP cost. Not only can you use it for block counters, but you can also buff the damage of your R2 attack even further, which makes this a fantastic pairing for this build.

For your helm, you can use the White Mask. Since you inflict hemorrhage easily with this weapon, you’ll greatly benefit with this helm as this will boost your attack power by 10% for 20 seconds when there’s blood loss inflicted either on the enemy or on you.

The armor that you use for this weapon isn’t going to be very important or specific. You’re not going to have a high enough equip load to use a very high Poise armor because you have a greatshield and a colossal weapon equipped, so you’re not going to wear heavy armor unless you want to do a heavy roll. It’s fine, but it’s not super important as the R2 attacks will usually give you high armor anyway, and you can tank through attacks with the Poise it gives.

Elden Ring Ghiza’s Wheel Build – Talismans

When it comes to talismans for this Elden Ring Ghiza’s Wheel Build, there are three that I keep slotted the whole time, and there’s a flex spot. For the three fixed talismans, I use: Millicent’s Prosthesis, Axe Talisman, and Lord of Blood’s Exultation.

Millicent’s Prosthesis, or Rotten Winged Sword Talisman, is going to increase your damage as you hit rapidly. This works well with this weapon because of the spins of the blades which is unique to this weapon. Otherwise, I would recommend these on a colossal weapon build because they attack very slowly. Millicent’s Prosthesis is the better option between the two, as it gives you +5 to Dexterity, which would free up five points to put in Endurance, as you’ll need all the stamina you can get for blocking and attacking.

Axe Talisman is there because it increases the damage of your charged R2 attack by 10%. You’ll get more damage, and even stagger damage out of them, so it works really well with this build.

Lord of Blood’s Exultation is here because you’re going to proc hemorrhage very easily because of the spins of your weapon’s blade. That’ll boost your attack power even higher.

Besides the fixed talismans, I switch between the Claw Talisman or the Ritual Sword Talisman. Sometimes, you’ll want to do jump attacks with this weapon, which Claw Talisman will increase by 15%. When I’m handling trash mobs, I’ll be using the Ritual Sword Talisman to increase my R2 attack’s damage. This will make sure that I can one-shot most trash mobs. You won’t be at full health at all times, so using these two talismans will vary depending on your situation or playstyle. Another option to use is Curved Sword Talisman if you’re able to do block counters well.

Elden Ring Ghiza’s Wheel Build – Gameplay

The strategy with this Elden Ring Ghiza’s Wheel Build is going around the landscape, doing block counters on trash mobs, then one-shotting them. If not, you can follow up with a critical strike because you usually stagger them in one block counter. Using R2 or your charged R2 on enemies will then trigger the build up from Millicent’s Prosthesis or Rotten Winged Sword Insignia.

You could use both of these talismans as well in tandem with this build to get even more build-up if you want. It’s not absolutely necessary, but it would give you more damage. The reason it’s important to trigger this right away is because that buff only lasts a small duration. If you go from enemy to enemy, you should keep attacking to keep that buff up. You’ll keep your damage high, allowing you to just keep chewing through enemies as your damage gets higher and higher.

When I get to tough enemies and bosses, I try to get a charged R2 attack off, dodge their attacks, and end up in a position where I can either still do a charged R2 attack or a normal R2 attack. Once they’re staggered and down on the ground, you can use your charged R2 attack to do a huge amount of damage. Sometimes, you can hit from 3000-4000 damage with a charge or two with this weapon depending on how many buffs you have up from triggering hemorrhage or from hitting repeatedly.

Block counters are hard to pull off against tough enemies because they’re usually very aggressive or they don’t bounce off of your weapon. Sometimes, you’re fighting a dragon, so block counters are just not an option. Usually, you’re going to be doing jump attacks against tough enemies, or your R2 attacks.

Elden Ring Ghiza’s Wheel Build – Attributes

The attributes I have for this Ghiza’s Wheel Build are: 50 Vigor, 13 Mind, 34 Endurance, 50 Strength, 50 Dexterity, 9 Intelligence, 14 Faith, and 9 Arcane. You should disregard Intelligence, Faith, and Arcane because of my starting class. You don’t really need any of them, but you can go for 25 Faith in this build to be able to use Golden Vow and Flame, Grant Me Strength if you want. I don’t want to keep buffing with them, since I already have to buff with the Jellyfish Shield. This is an option if you want, but I want these attributes to be as low as possible.

50 Vigor is there to give you enough health to survive hits.

13 Mind is there to just give you enough FP to use your skills. Contagious Fury costs 9 FP, which lasts 30 seconds. That’s the only thing you’ll be spending FP on in this build, because the rest of your damage comes from block counters or your R2 attacks. You don’t really need points in Mind.

34 Endurance is there to give you enough equip weight, so that you could use all these equipment and still do a medium roll. It also gives you more stamina when you’re blocking, as Jellyfish Shield only has 52 Guard Boost. That’s going to eat a lot out of your stamina when you block. Some greatshields will have higher Guard Boost so you don’t take as much stamina damage, so you can use those if you want to consume less stamina.

Ghiza’s Wheel scales very well with Strength and Dexterity. I would say it scales evenly, so we’ve hit the breakpoint of both Strength and Dexterity at 50 each. If you’re using Millicent’s Prosthesis, you only need to take Dexterity up to 45, which frees up five points for you to use for your Endurance. Otherwise, you want to keep these to about 50, which you’ll eventually increase to 80 if you play this build into NG+. From that point forward, your damage isn’t really going to go too much further. You can keep increasing Strength and Dexterity, but you’re going to get negligible returns after that.

Elden Ring Ghiza’s Wheel Build – Final Tips

If you’re using the Flask of Wondrous Physick, you’ll want to use two tears here. You’ll want to use the Spiked Cracked Tear to increase your charged attack damage by 15%, and Thorny Cracked Tear to increase your damage on successive hits. Both of these apply to this build, which is fantastic for us.

Another option if you don’t have either of this is the Greenburst Crystal Tear, which increases your stamina recovery. Your stamina will go down fast with blocking and attacking with a colossal weapon, so having increased stamina recovery will be beneficial for this build.
