His return has been welcomed by EastEnders fans, and while Freddie Slater (played by Bobby Brazier) is usually on hand to add some comedy to scenes, he will be involved in a more serious plot in upcoming episodes.
A few weeks ago, fans of the BBC soap witnessed a softer side to Freddie as he confronted his past.
He spoke to a teacher he had been left scarred by when he was younger as they used to call him stupid, and the visit was cathartic for Freddie.
The teacher in question, Mr Hawthorne (William Ellis), was apologetic and later revealed to Freddie he believes he displays symptoms of ADHD.
While Freddie seems to have dropped the subject, official spoilers reveal the health condition will be revisited.

In scenes yet to air, Freddie gets his heart set on recruiting a dream team of locals to take part in a pub quiz at The Vic.
In doing so, Freddie seeks help from an unlikely source, but who could it be?
Later, the quiz gets underway and the Albert Square residents battle it out to win.
It doesn’t take long though for rivalry to boil over between Freddie’s team and Reiss Clowell’s (Jonny Freeman).
Mr Hawthorne turns up with ADHD referral card for Freddie and urges him to listen to what he has to say, but Freddie refuses.
Later though, he is persuaded by pal Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) to meet with an ADHD specialist.
Bobby points out that Freddie seems to display a lot of the tell-tale symptoms of the condition.
In previous episodes, Freddie became emotional and admitted it was triggering for him when Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) made a remark about him not being “bright”.
Feeling awful, Jean apologised to him and he explained how Mr Hawthorne used to make him feel stupid.
The incident spurred Freddie into confronting his former teacher, who since seems to have developed a more understanding approach.
Will an official ADHD diagnosis help Freddie to accept himself more?
The 18-year-old might be able to move forward with his life if he gets the support and help he needs.
