Early-access survival game ‘Nightingale’ gets new quality-of-life updates

Survival game Nightingale is getting an update that adds several quality-of-life features, including a much-requested offline mode.

Nightingale is a PvE lamplight survival-game set during the Victorian era. Previously, you could only play it with a stable internet connection, but now players will be able to enjoy the game offline. This is great for people with spotty internet connections, wanting to pause to grab a snack, or just those who don’t like playing with others. And don’t worry, you’ll be able to transfer your online characters into your offline world in the coming months.

A great addition to any survival game is the new ‘build from storage’ feature coming to Nightingale. This will allow you to build structures using resources that are in your storage, rather than having to trek everything with you in your inventory. You’ll have to enable this feature on each of your containers, as it’s switched off by default. It would be wise to turn it on, as it will save lots of time running back and forth between containers and buildings.

There’s also a new enemy, the Marksman Bound, a sniper that can hit you from long distances, so keep your eyes open. Apex creatures, Eotens, Swamp Giants, and Bound now come in three tiers with varying loot levels dropped based on the realm’s difficulty level.

Nightingale‘s first community event is also running between now and early July. You’ll need to head to the vendor next to Sasse in your Abeyance Realm to begin taking part.

In other news, if you can’t win with your favourite Smash Bros. character, that’s likely your own fault, as creator Sakurai has revealed all the fighters have roughly the same win rates in worldwide online play.
