The Chase’s Bradley Walsh welcomed Death in Paradise star Danny John-Jules, TV personality Yinka Bokinni, British race walker Tom Bosworth and Eamonn Holmes onto the latest celebrity special.

The team went up against ruthless Chaser, Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan, in the hope of winning a potential prize pot worth thousands of pounds.

Eamonn was the last celebrity to go up against The Vixen, with a total of £17,000 already in the bank.

However, his appearance on the show sparked a conversation amongst viewers who thought it was interesting timing following his rant about Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning.

Taking to Twitter, Jaybird said: “So is @EamonnHolmes appearing on #TheChase tonight also coincidence? @ITV programmers are definitely earning their pay tonight.”

Dayjur added: “I hope Phillip Schofield is watching ITV tonight. A question about This Morning on Family Fortunes and now Eamonn Holmes on #TheChase.”

Alan Cortes shared: “Eamonn Holmes on The Chase good timing #thechase.”

@Boppity_Boo34 said: “Eamonn put him back on This Morning with Ruth #TheChase.”

One of the questions sparked a sassy answer from a viewer, when Eamonn was asked: “Which of these is another name for the Chinese king rat snake?”

As Eamonn was given three answers to choose from, Cheryl wrote: “Or D. Holly Willoughby #thechase”

Eamonn’s low offer was £1,000, with a high offer of £143,000 for his team’s chosen charities.

Asking the audience what he should do, he decided to go for the big money, which earned respect from viewers.

He nailed the first question, but “pushed the wrong button” on the second question, which meant the Chaser was right on his tail.

Sadly, he was caught by The Vixen at the final hurdle and his time on The Chase was up.

His appearance on the show came days after he was heard slamming the This Morning presenters on his GB News show.

He had said: “I think there should have been a special award for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for best actors.

“They may or may not be together on the telly today. The public surely will suss that there’s no chemistry, that it’s a broken fit between the two of them and that This Morning does not depend on who presents it.”

“It’s an institution, it will carry on no matter who presents it and anyone can check the viewing figures, there’s no difference between whether they present it or anyone else.”

The Chase Celebrity Special is available to watch on ITVX.
