Dragon’s Dogma 2 player receives both Prey for the Pack quest endings

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a game of consequences and choices. What you decide or fail to do will lock you into a line of events. Well, unless you exploit death to receive the benefits of both lines of events.

You can get double rewards in Dragon’s Dogma 2 if you don’t mind doing the unthinkable

YouTuber Elvis The Alien shared a hilarious clip of his Dragon’s Dogma 2 gameplay where he stumbled into both endings for the notorious Prey for the Pack quest.

Upon managing to successfully save Rodge, his impatience made him think of carrying Rodge all the way to Checkpoint Rest Town. Funnily enough, Rodge did not appreciate this, and began fighting him when he struggled free.

His Pawns immediately jumped to the defense of their master. Despite his best attempts to defuse the situation, one of his Pawns slaughtered the child they had just saved. Not wanting to forfeit the quest, he used a Wakestone to bring the kid back to life and brought him to his grandpa.

However, as Rodge had died, the quest failed and didn’t revert even when the kid was brought back to life. Elvis The Alien then proceeded to receive the bad ending for the quest, and the appropriate rewards.

Despite the quest concluding, the good ending was triggered thanks to Rodge walking up to his grandpa. Bewildered, he then received the rewards for Rodge’s safe return.

Thanks to accidentally triggering both quest conditions, he was rewarded far more than the average player.

Can this trick be exploited in Dragon’s Dogma 2 for every similar quest?

It seems that the success and failure conditions of the Prey of the Pack quest have different triggers that don’t clash or invalidate each other. If this is the case for Prey of the Pack, then it may be the quest for other quests in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

I cannot confirm whether quests that hinge on the existence of a character can be exploited by using a Wakestone to trigger a failure and then allow for a success, but it may be worth a try. Resting at an Inn before completing the quest will allow you to quickly undo the whole quest if it doesn’t go the way you want.

Considering this is not intentional, it may be patched in the future, but until then, why not exploit the system? You’ll need all the Gold you can get for the best gear.
