Diablo 4 Open Beta Patch Addresses Queue Times, Fixes World Boss Spawn Issues

The rollout of Diablo IV’s open beta will ideally be a little smoother than its early access one, thanks to a patch that should improve queue times.

In an official post on the Diablo IV forums, Blizzard outlined the changes coming to the game’s open beta. Issues affecting login queue times (which peaked at nearly two hours on the early access beta’s first day before becoming virtually nonexistent for the remainder of the early access period) have been fixed. Additionally, Blizzard has fixed an issue that saw queue timers disappear, despite players still being stuck in queue.

An issue affecting the spawn timers for the beta’s only world boss, Ashava the Pestilent, has also been addressed. For those looking to take down the ferocious beast, the boss will spawn at 10 AM, 12 PM and 10 PM PDT on Saturday, March 25 and at 12 AM PDT on Sunday, March 26.

Ashava the Pestilent Spawn Times

  • 10 AM PDT, 1 PM ET March 25
  • 12 PM PDT, 3 PM ET March 25
  • 10 PM PDT March 25, 1 AM ET March 26
  • 12 AM PDT, 3 AM ET March 26

The patch should additionally resolve various crashing-related issues some players had with the beta on PC and fix an issue couch co-op players on console experienced where partners couldn’t drop into the game during the prologue. Players with 16GB of RAM on PC unable to select the “High Texture” setting should be able to do so in the open beta. Additionally, a UI issue incorrectly displaying completed challenges as not being started and a specific issue preventing players from making a progress in the “In Her Wake” quest have been fixed.

Blizzard in the patch notes thanked players for jumping into the early access beta, and stated that the team has been “combing through all the feedback and will continue to do so through the open beta to capture and address notes from players before launch.”

One piece of feedback Blizzard has already received and will be taking action on is the Barbarian’s perceived lack of power at lower levels. Changes to make the Barbarian more powerful in the early game will be coming to the full version of Diablo IV when it releases on June 6, and won’t be present in the open beta.

There are a number of rewards that carry over to the full version of Diablo IV for those who reach certain milestones in the beta, so be sure to read up on everything we know about Diablo IV’s open beta for more information. Diablo IV’s open beta weekend starts on March 24 and will include two additional classes, the Necromancer and Druid, not featured as part of the early access beta.
