Destiny 2 has one of the best arsenals in gaming, and you can soon add another one of its Exotic weapons to your collection. For once, there’s some good news about a Destiny 2 Exotic being nerfed, because this toy version of the Ace of Spades hand cannon looks like a fantastic replica. It’ll be available first to Destiny 2 players who earn the Legend seal in the game, but everyone else can preorder it now for $50 ahead of its expected public shipping date in October.

The Nerf Ace of Spades is a chunky hand cannon, and it has a battery-operated motor that can fire all six Nerf darts in a row so you won’t have to worry about blisters on your hand from fanning the hammer. It comes with 12 foam darts, two removable drums that can hold six darts each, and some cool packaging. The gun also has a very Nerf finish, along with an orange-tipped barrel end as required by law for the sale of the toy.
Overall, it’s a mostly faithful reproduction of a weapon that has a very long legacy in Destiny 2. Ace of Spades was originally one of the toughest guns to obtain in the game after it was introduced in the Forsaken expansion, as the final requirement revolved around using hand cannons to take down five invaders in Gambit. This was a tough challenge, as hand cannons weren’t the best weapons to use in PvP at the time, and invading players in Gambit were a lot tougher back then before the mode went through several overhauls. Fortunately, Bungie would later make earning Ace of Spades much easier.
The gun itself was worth the effort, as it could dish out high levels of damage and it had a cool reload animation. This isn’t the first time that a Destiny 2 weapon have been turned into a Nerf blaster, as Bungie celebrated its 30th anniversary a few years back with the limited-edition releases of a Nerf Gjallarhorn foam rocket launcher. You can find these for sale at a very expensive price on the reseller market, and you can likely expect the same for Ace of Spades once Bungie sells out of stock.
Alternatively, you can pick up some Halo Nerf weapons for an affordable price. They’re not the same as Destiny 2’s weapons, but since Bungie created both franchises, there is that common thread of DNA between them.
