Destiny 2 Gives Players Free Emblem After Intentional Telesto Bug

In the recent iteration of This Week At Bungie, the developer confirmed that the team is aware of the Telesto bug in Destiny 2 – as if we didn’t know – still continuing the interesting show of Telesto takeover in the game, which granted players a new Emblem.

Earlier this week, some Destiny 2 players mentioned on social media that Telesto is not firing correctly. While the weapon should fire multiple projectiles in a direct line, it sent out the projectiles in a weird pattern that made them go upside while moving away from the muzzle. Forbes’ Paul Tassi shared a brief video of the gun’s weird performance, claiming that it could actually be fixed by holding the reload button, but he mentioned that there was a secret behind the bug.

It didn’t take long for Telesto to become more than a weapon and actually take over the entire Destiny 2 scene, starting with new weird tweets from the official Destiny 2 account, one of which shared a new redeemable code that gives players a free Emblem of glitched Telesto.

While the Telesto firing pattern changed a few times later, it seems like things are going to be normal soon as the parody is probably over, though a part of the community believes that this could lead to bigger mysteries about the next season, Lightfall expansion, or the new dungeon.

According to Forbes, Bungie has also partnered with the Destiny Trials Report website for this big parody, which showcased Telesto as the most popular in-game weapon for a limited time. The developer even updated the entry notification of the game to a weird message including “Telesto” repeated tens of times.

Honestly, there is no clue if Telesto will get to work correctly, as we might still witness the weird projectile patterns. But it is probably going to entertain the veteran Destiny 2 players for weeks to analyze all the details of the intentional bug as well as projectile patterns and probably discuss new theories, as some have already appeared on the game’s sub-Reddit page, including one connecting Telesto bug to Lorentz Driver.
