Dead Space Remake’s Chapter 3 will task you with manually reigniting the engines. Here’s how to do it!
Dead Space Remake is a triumph from head to toe. If you’re here, that means you’re probably in the middle of trying to save the Ishimura from certain disaster. Well, we’re here to assist you in that endeavor. Just remember to keep an eye out for those nasty necromorphs as you make your way to the next objective.
One of Chapter 3’s objectives will task you with reigniting the engines manually. Getting to the engine room is the easy part. Just use your locator and the tracking on your map. Follow the little blue line until you’re in the engine room. Once you’re there, things become a little less clear.
Locate Power Sub-Station 03
If you go to the console upstairs, it’s just going to tell you that you need to restore power. Your locator will also be perfectly unhelpful once you’re inside the room. If you’re standing at the entrance to the room, you want to go straight forward. Once you’re near the back to the room, the power sub-station will be on your left. You’ll notice the red lights mean it needs a power source.
Look Behind You
If you’re facing the powerless sub-station, then there will be a set of stairs directly behind you. Go up those stairs and you should see a box with a white lightning bolt on it. This box is something of a battery. It’s a power source.
Restore The Power
Pick up the power source using kinesis and go back to power sub-station 3. Insert the power source, and you’ve successfully restored the power!
Fight Off The Necromorphs
Restoring the power is going to upset the necromorphs. They’re coming for you from seemingly everywhere. You need to fight them off. The best advice here is just to not let yourself get cornered. Look around the room for items you can throw at them. Stasis cannisters and explosives are useful. If you have the energy, use stasis to slow some of them down and take off their limbs.
Use The Console
Make your way upstairs and the previously unusable console will prompt you to reignite the engines! That’s it! You’ve completed this objective!
