The new season will be themed around X-Men and their adversaries.
X-Men and their adversaries will take the spotlight on Marvel Snap’s Days of Future Past season, which will add Nimrod as the season pass reward along with three new locations and variants. While the latest developer diary does not provide a release date, the Days of Future Past season is expected to start on March 6.
Marvel Snap seasons historically release at 7PM PST for North America and 3AM GMT for the UK. Developer Second Dinner outlined the next batch of variants and cards coming to the rotation with Days of Future Past, revealing that the upcoming season will be themed around X-Men and their adversaries. Nimrod, the advanced form of sentinel robot, will be obtainable via the season pass for the premium pass owners. The card adds a copy to each of the other locations when destroyed.
Three new cards will be added to series 5 – Master Mold, Kitty Pride, and Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Master Mold adds two Sentinels to the opponent’s hand while Kitty Pride grants +2 power. Negasonic Teenage Warhead on the other hand destroys itself if another card is played at the same location.
There are also season cache variants for Nimrod, Wolverine, and Sentinel, each having its own merits and drawbacks. Players can regenerate the Wolverine variant at a random location when it is discarded or destroyed. The Sentinel variant adds another Sentinel card to the player’s hand on its reveal.
The Days of Future Past season will also introduce three new locations – Orchis Forge, Asteroid M, and Krakoa. Orchis Forge is a space station fitted by Sentinels from a Dyson sphere, where players can add a Sentinel to their hand after they play a random card. Krakoa is a sentient island that automatically plays cards for both players on the fifth turn. Then there’s the new Asteroid M location, which has a similar effect to Magneto’s, allowing players to move their cards here after they play 3 or 4-cost cards.
Lastly, the Days of Future Past season will add a variant rush that includes steampunk versions of Cerebro, Shocker, Falcon, and Bishop. Following on from the Quantum Realm season, Marvel Snap’s next season will be starred by mutant-kind.
