Do you like survival titles like Valheim or Enshrouded but you’re tired of the whole Nordic and Viking vibe? What do you feel about that sort of setup but in ancient Greek mythology instead? That’s the very broad strokes approximation we can reach with Dawn of Defiance, a newly announced co-op survival title from developer Traega that lets up to four players come together to try to thrive in an island of Greek myth.
“You are the Defier of Gods. Ascend from weak soldier to god-like anti-hero, venturing across the ruined Isles, building impressive temples, and vanquishing the Gods’ followers to gain their mythic abilities. Gather resources, construct a base, craft and upgrade your gear, and face down the legendary challenges of the Gods with friends or on your own to survive.”
Gameplay focuses on finding temples, clearing challenges set by the gods to obtain new recipes and upgrades, and growing strong enough to defeat followers and clear altar trials. Along the way, players can select the design of their weapons, customize gear with a range of ingredients, and build their own impressive structures.
Dawn of Defiance plans an early access release on Steam and EGS sometime later this year. For now, the game is available for wishlisting on both storefronts and a gameplay trailer can be watched below.
