September is looking a little more drab for co-op games. Developer Fatshark has announced that Warhammer 40,0000: Darktide has been hit by another delay, this time pushing the game until the end of November. Previously, Darktide was held back due to in part to difficulties brought about by the pandemic. This time, Fatshark revealed it needs more time to get things fine-tuned. In the meantime, the studio is preparing for pre-launch betas you can sign up for today.

Fatshark announced the news of Darktide getting delayed in a Twitter post earlier today. Calling it one of the “most difficult decisions a developer faces,” the CEO, Martin Wahlund, writes that the studio requires a bit more time. Stability and performance are among the key items on the team’s to-do list before release.

“While we have been humbled by the great feedback on the game so far, we also need more time to improve stability, performance, and to mature key systems,” Wahlund writes in the message. “Each is critical to making sure we have the best possible experience for you, the players.”

Mount up, we’re rolling out

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide has been delayed until November 30 for PC, but you may be able to try it out earlier than that. As part of the polishing process, Fatshark is getting ready to run some tests and betas. There’s no specified date when these betas will begin, however the team plans to get them started “as early as mid-August” according to the FAQ. You can head to the game’s web page to sign up with your email today.

Once you do, Fatshark will reply with an email asking for your PC specs. You’ll need to complete it to become eligible. And, like with most betas and tests, there’s no guarantee you’ll be chosen. It depends on the luck of the draw, as well as your current PC specs. For more on the betas, you can check out the FAQ.
