It reacts dynamically to the player’s decisions and in-game quests
Cyberpunk 2077 modder NexusGuy999 has released the new mod “Stock Market and News System” on Nexusmods, a feature that introduces a fully interactive stock market system to the world of the game, in addition to a news system that actively gets updated based on in-game quests and the player’s actions.
The mod implements a stock market tab into every PC in the game, giving you the ability to buy, sell, and manage your shares. The 33 available stocks are tied to the corporations that control the scene of Night City, so the trick is to buy stocks from a corporation before you sign up for a quest or a gig that benefits the one you chose, and so you can manipulate the market as you wish. The opposite is also true, and you can preform actions against a certain corporation in order to cause their stocks in drop in value, leaving them ripe for the taking for nothing but a few dimes.
There is also a Portfolio tab where you can access your owned stocks and check their total values along with the current trends. It will come with a very intuitive UI and buttons to help you sort the listed stocks and check the total amounts of shares and investments, as well as any other information you might need for your stock trading. There are 33 triggers affecting the stocks’ movement, like killing the officers of a certain cooperation or causing lots of car accidents, but the modder stresses that these factors could only influence the probability of stocks going up and down, and they do not guarantee it.
As for the news tab, you can opt for sending notification of news items to your phone as well. Just like the stocks, the news section will also react dynamically to the results of your actions and the quests you have completed. Full controller support is also available, but interested players will have to install the latest version of Cyber Engine Tweaks first to set up the framework for running the mod, then extract the mod inside the game folder on their computer.
