On Monday night’s instalment of Coronation Street, viewers watched as Daisy Midgeley’s (played by Charlotte Jordan) wedding was ruined by stalker Justin Rutherford (Andrew Still). In a harrowing act of revenge, he threw acid at Daisy but Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) got in the way and became the victim.
For months, ITV viewers have seen Justin terrorise the Rovers barmaid after becoming infatuated with her after they first met at the hospital.
Despite her constant pleas to the police, Daisy received little to no help from the authority who informed her not much was able to happen as he hadn’t done anything arrest-worthy.
However, on Monday’s instalment, Coronation Street fans witnessed the stalker take drastic action as he showed up before Daisy and Ryan headed to the ceremony.
With Ryan stepping in to be the chauffeur after the wedding car got stolen, he was at the pub when Justin arrived.

Although the stalker threw acid which was intended for Daisy, Ryan got in the way with the majority of the liquid going on his face.
Writhing in agony, distressing scenes saw Ryan dragged into the shower by Daisy who tried to stop the acid from burning.
As the storyline unfolded, Coronation Street viewers took to social media to praise the actors as they commented on the harrowing screams from Ryan

During the episode, viewers saw Justin finally get arrested after he followed Daisy and Ryan to the hospital.
As the bride managed to fool him into opening his car door, she climbed in and managed to get the attention of the police by honking the horn.
In the end, the stalker was brought to justice as Ryan had to undergo surgery as a result of his injuries.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk and other media publications, actor Ryan Prescott touched on the moment he learnt of the tragic attack.
He said: “I had no idea it would be something that gritty, you know? Because Ryan kind of usually slides into the more humorous elements of the show.
“So to have something that serious, I was just excited, to be honest.
“It kind of woke me up from being subdued watching the ocean. Full of excitement and something gritty to get into for Ryan.
“I was excited to kind of explore different things for him. It’s something of real substance so as an actor you can get stuck in a little bit more.”
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV1 and ITVX from 8pm.
