Coronation Street has finally shared where resident Aggie Bailey (played by Lorna Laidlaw) is after she disappeared from the cobbles.

The last time fans of the ITV soap saw the nurse in Weatherfield was in June earlier this year.

Nurse Aggie was last seen having some old friends over at the Metcalfe’s house, as she tried to pass it off as her own.

However, not long after the staged dinner party she seemed to vanish from Weatherfield altogether.

Although her absence has been mentioned a few times by her family on the cobbles, the show has now revealed where she is.

On Monday night, viewers saw Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) have a conversation with Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) about her whereabouts.

Confirming where she is, he said: “I can’t believe mum won’t be back for Christmas.

“I know she’s doing a brilliant job looking after Auntie Em but come on, it’s not going to be the same waking up Christmas morning with mum not here.

“For Glory, Christmas dinner without mum, she always makes a big effort.”

However, his dad hit back to defend his wife, as he replied: “ Your mum would love to be here, but she’s needed somewhere else.”

It wasn’t long before people watching took to Twitter to share their concern for the actress as it looks as though she’ll be missing for some time.

@CHG3899 said: “So Aggie won’t be in Corrie for Christmas. I hope Lorna Laidlaw is alright.”

@CallumPO6 added: “If Aggie doesn’t return for the new year, I actually might cry. She and DeeDee carry that family, and they’re not giving DeeDee an easy job. #Corrie.”

@LilMissMystic asked: “Seriously, will Lorna Laidlaw return as Aggie, or will she slowly be replaced or written out? #Corrie”

@fansvfavourites quipped: “Aggie won’t be back for Christmas? cheers corrie you’ve just ruined Christmas for the nation. nasty s**s #Corrie.”

@__Melissaaaa tweeted: “Aggie needs to come back and put Ed in his place! [sic] as this storyline is getting tedious.”

Coronation Street continues on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
