A new Action-RPG from Aftnareld is getting a demo during Steam’s Next Fest ahead of its launch in summer 2024. The demo will be available as part of the multi-day celebration from publisher Anshar Publishing. Steam Next Fest will run from February 5th at 10AM PT to February 12th.

Coridden is all about the secrets of the ancient city of Aasha. Together with your own siblings, you will brave the darkness that has now spread across the land in search of mysteries and treasures. You are also armed with the ability to shapeshift. As a family of warriors, you will fight magic monsters and even a human or two.

As you have both a human and monster side, you can adapt your playstyle that take into account both these different sets of abilities. Whether you choose to embrace your more monstrous skills is up to you. Combine abilities, make new weapons and experiment with combat in real-time battles. Team up with friends with up to four players in co-op if you rather be a part of the pack than a lone wolf. You can even hitch a ride on a friend while they’re in beast form.

Shapeshifting in combat gives lots of possibilities as monsters “come in all forms and specialities”. But shapeshifting isn’t just reserved for combat as you can utilise the skills to help explore the land. The game takes inspiration from games such as Diablo 2, Monster Hunter World, Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliance and more.

Coridden recently kicked off its Kickstarter project and has already reached around 80% of its main goal (roughly $18k out of its $21.5k goal) in under a week. The game has 25 days to go, so if you want to help fund the project and maybe help it reach a stretch goal or many, you can head over to Kickstarter to help back it.

Coridden aims to release in Q3 2024 for platforms Steam, GOG and Epic Games.
