The second season of Classroom of the Elite started airing in early July, and now, with the release of episode 13, it’s time to say goodbye to the series. Many other anime shows that started at the same time — like Made in Abyss, Rent-A-Girlfriend, Overlord, and My Stepmom’s Daughter Is My Ex — all have come to an end in September.
We have a lot more to enjoy in the upcoming month, with the best shows of the year waiting for their arrival. But, Classroom of the Elite fans are just concerned about the renewal of the series. So, do we have any official announcement regarding its season 3 yet? Luckily, we do, and there’s more to the news than just season 3 confirmation.
What We Know So Far
The official announcement for season 3 takes us back to March 2022, one month after the second season of the series was greenlit. The news also confirmed the 2023 release of the sequel. Just like the first two seasons, Studio Lerche will be returning for the third one as well.
Right now, we don’t have an exact release date for the sequel, but we can expect to hear it a few months before season 3 will be up for a release. Even if we didn’t have an official word regarding the 2023 release window for the sequel, it was easy to conclude the show’s return given its popularity and the source material left to adopt further seasons.
Season 2 is said to have covered up until volumes 6 or 7 of the series, and the light novel of Classroom of the Elite has published 11 volumes as of February 2022 in Japan, leaving us with enough material to give us 12-13 more episodes.
Given the release schedule followed by the previous two seasons, it’s safe to conclude that Classroom of the Elite season 3 will likely begin airing in July 2023 and end in September. But, it’s hard to say anything with certainty at the moment, so be sure to pay attention for the official announcement.
