The entire anime community is waiting for any news on Chainsaw Man, another ambitious project from MAPPA. While we don’t have an exact release date for the project yet, Crunchyroll recently confirmed that the anime adaptation would arrive on the platform later this year.
Chainsaw Man is one of the most-awaited anime series of 2022. MAPPA plans on releasing the project during the Fall 2022 anime season. So, the anime community will get it around the same time when Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Arc, Jojo Stone Ocean Part 2, and Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 will come out.
MAPPA released the first teaser for Chainsaw Man back in June 2021, and it was enough to break the internet. However, it has been a while since we’ve seen a new trailer or poster for the upcoming anime series.
On May 16th, 2022, Crunchyroll officially confirmed that Chainsaw Man would become available for streaming on the platform later in 2022. The streaming platform will release the anime in more than 200 countries, both in subbed and dubbed format. The dub version will include English, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, and German.
In the official post, the streaming host confirmed that Ryū Nakayama is directing Chainsaw Man. Nakayama has previously worked on popular projects like Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia; The Rising of the Shield Hero.
Apart from that, here are the other staff members working on MAPPA’s next big project:
MAPPA didn’t officially confirm this, but some rumors state that Chainsaw Man would be a two-cour series. So, the anime will run for around 24 episodes, covering Part 1 of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga series in its entirety.
