The ‘Heavy Metal’ season will see the return of Black Ops Cold War’s Diesel map.
Activision has provided a breakdown of all the new content included in Call of Duty Mobile’s Heavy Metal season, such as the Diesel map, two multiplayer modes, the Ravager Launcher class, and the season-themed event with daily challenges. The Heavy Metal season will launch on Call of Duty Mobile on February 22 at 4 PM PT.
This post-apocalyptic-themed Heavy Metal season brings a bunch of new content, including a brand-new Battle Pass and the Maddox Assault Rifle. The Ravager Launcher class will be introduced with Season 2, which can deploy a limited-time Sentry Turret that automatically attacks enemies within range. The Sentry Turret can also fire missiles capable of locking onto vehicles when upgraded.
The second season will ramp up the chaos with two new modes, Goliath Clash and Chaos Control. Goliath Clash has players deploying into the match as a Goliath and fighting against mechs in a domination-style mode. Players will battle over three capture points, as they will also upgrade Goliath’s abilities with battery drops. Goliath can become stronger with Blue, Red, and Silver power upgrades, each offering a different buff such as enhanced firepower, melee weapon, and health boost.
Chaos Control, on the other hand, has no limit to the number of players available to each team. It allows players to take risks and make big plays by emphasizing a much more aggressive play style. The Heavy Metal season also adds the fan-favorite Diesel map first seen in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Situated under a scorching desert sun, Diesel takes players to a gas station for tight-knit skirmishes.
Players can also participate in the season-themed Black Gold Brawl event to take on daily challenges. They will help extract the fuel needed to carry on their operations. Completing daily missions will unlock the final event rewards, including the S36 – Vengeful Clucks and Captain Park – Party Camo.
Last but not least, the upcoming season introduces a new Battle Pass, featuring Operator skins, Weapon Blueprints, Calling Cards, and additional COD points that can be used on the next Battle Pass. Players who subscribe to the full Battle Pass will earn a 10% XP boost and extra rewards throughout the season.
