Blumhouse films are mid but their upcoming games look insane

Although you may know Blumhouse for their strange and not-so-scary horror films, it seems like Blumhouse has some insane-looking upcoming games.

Blumhouse’s six games look incredible, despite their mid films

The Five Nights and Freddy’s movie was a blast to watch, but it wasn’t as scary as I’d hoped. Then there’s M3GAN, which was intentionally silly and an unmemorable movie. On the flip side, Blumhouse’s surprising bevy of games, announced at Summer Game Fest, threw my hype levels out the roof.

At first, you thought it was just one game, then it was two, and suddenly it turned into six unique and slightly horrifying video games. I’d be happy with just one, but six games with elements of horror will make any fan of the genre excited.

It makes you think that Blumhouse couldn’t have spearheaded these games, right? Working with creators like Sam Barlow and Brandon Cronenberg who are known creatives for just one of the games makes me truly believe that Blumhouse struck a pot of gold with this one.

If you check out Blumehouse’s website, you can now see all six games displayed. Fear the Spotlight will inevitably be the first game arriving, as it’s the only one that says it’s coming this year. According to the description, it’s a creepy love letter to 90s teen horror stories.

What makes these games so interesting is how different they all are, yet they still carry that horror thread between them. Apart from Fear the Spotlight, we have Crisol: Theater of Idols (first-person horror adventure), Grave Seasons (farming and life simulator), Project C (Sam Barlow and Brandon Cronenberg), Sleep Awake (first-person psychedelic horror), and The Simulation (horror crime investigation).

Despite how you feel about Blumhouse films, you have to admit that these video games announced at Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest look incredible. Fear the Spotlight comes first, so we’ll have to see how this game turns out as it may give us an inkling of how the rest of the games will shape up.
