The official Twitter account of Black Clover has recently announced that the upcoming movie of the franchise, Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, has been postponed. Previously, the movie was scheduled for a release on March 31st, 2023, but now it will be out on Friday, June 16th, this year for international fans. While Japanese fans can enjoy the forthcoming film in theaters, Netflix has licensed it for other regions around the world. The news of the postponement has also been updated on Black Clover’s official website.
The website claims that the delay has been announced due to the production delay, which has been caused due to the spread of the new coronavirus. The note further apologized to the fans looking forward to the movie and stated that the staff members would continue to work hard to ensure they deliver great work to the fans.
Recently, the release of several anime series have been affected due to COVID-19, which include Bofuri, The Misfit of Demon King Academy, Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible, Ayakashi Triangle, and Spy Classroom, so the same happening with Black Clover movie shouldn’t come as a surprise to the fans, and at the moment, fans could only hope that it doesn’t get delayed any further.
Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King will mark the first movie of the franchise. The film adaptation was announced in the Weekly Shonen Jump in 2021, and then in the 15th issue of the magazine, it was revealed that the movie would hit the screens in 2023. Yuki Tabata will serve as the chief supervisor and original character designer, while Minako Seki will handle the music. Ayataka Tanemura is directing the film with animation from the studio Pierrot.
The fans’ reaction to the news was obviously not a happy one, but mostly they supported the decision and hoped to get better than what they expected. Several Tweets expressed themselves with gifs expressing shock, depression, and rage.

But now he has been resurrected and plans to use the Imperial Sword to bring back the three most feared Wizard Kings from the past, Edward Avalaché, Princia Funnybunny, and Jester Garandaros, and take control of the Clover Kingdom.
