Britain’s Got Talent act Noodle the Cat left viewers blown away with his auditions and left the judges wondering how it happened.

However, when Noodle took to the stage to open the show, 2022 runner-up Tom Ball walked out and revealed himself to be the voice behind the animation.

Viewers of the show were left fuming and felt it was unfair he had managed to get through to the semi-finals once again, despite previously placing third in the competition.

Taking to Twitter, @JamieSummersTV fumed: “Belter of a voice, but is it allowed? #BGT.”

@Lee__Turton expressed: “I’m not that impressed with Tom. He’s been in the USA and also got a deal already. You’re telling me Simon didn’t know it was him as the cat? #BGT”

Ryan Glendenning commented: “Tom should never have revealed that info about him having a record Label/ album tour etc. He’s just blown his chances of getting through now I feel. Shame because that was a great performance and a nice surprise. #BGT.”

@MattOfHulleys penned: “How is this fair? If people have been on BGT before they should not be allowed back on especially if they have an album and a record deal absolutely selfish! If he gets through it’s a fix!!! #BGT.”

@Ge_l_t_yJo agreed: “Ok, so he’s been successful since last year & got a record deal etc. What the hell is he doing back on the show as a cat & taking the place of another act that is still trying to get their break?? #BGT #BGT2023.”

@kellycrumpton94 noted: “U mean yeah he’s got an INCREDIBLE but he’s signed a record deal and is going on tour so is it really fair to put him into the final with a chance of winning when he’s already doing so well thanks to doing the show last year? #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.”

Claire Alding tweeted: “Don’t see how it’s fair that he was runner up, has a record deal and has found fame and is still allowed to audition? He has taken the space of someone who probably deserved it more.” (sic)

Judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli, as well as presenters Ant and Dec, were stunned when Tom walked out on stage.

Ant and Dec admitted they had no idea that Tom had returned as Noodle Cat and couldn’t get over his dramatic glow-up.

Tom stole the hearts of the nation when he first appeared on the show back in 2022 and took on Sam Smith’s Bond theme Writing’s on the Wall.

After his audition, Tom was praised by Amanda as she exclaimed: “Who knew what a powerhouse you were? That was an exceptional audition, one of the best singers we have auditioned in the past 16 years.”

Simon added: “There’s something very likable about you, I don’t think there’s a single person in this room who wanted you to fail.

“I’m so happy you came, I’m so happy,” which meant a lot to Tom as he walked away with four yeses and came third in the competition.

Britain’s Got Talent airs weeknights from 8pm on ITV.
