Best Welgun setup in COD: Warzone Season 3

0

The Welgun appeared in the mid-season update to Season 1 of Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific, taking advantage of a simultaneous nerf of the mighty MP40 to sneak right into the elite group of submachine guns. Since then, however, the latter has reclaimed its top spot in the category’s pecking order. That doesn’t mean the weapon meta has left the Welgun behind, though.

In Season 3, which saw a huge weakening of sniper rifles, the Welgun has once again gained prominence and is one of the most effective weapons for combat on Caldera. Find out what the best Welgun setup in Warzone looks like here. For more on Season 3, check out our COD: Warzone Season 3 patch notes breakdown.

Best Welgun Setup in Warzone

Muzzle: Recoil Booster
Barrel: 120mm Short Gawain
Optic: Slate Reflector
Stock: Gawain Skeletal
Underbarrel: M1941 Hand Stop
Magazine: 9mm 64 Round Mags
Ammunition: Lengthened
Rear Grip: Polymer Grip
Perk 1: Acrobatic
Perk 2: Quick

This setup for the Welgun is designed to minimize the weapon’s TTK (Time To Kill) in close combat. The Welgun, unlike weapons like the Armaguerra 43, is not a submachine gun that has great strength at medium or even longer ranges. You should always play it aggressively and force firefights at close distances.

To this end, the muzzle and barrel used in this setup increase the rate of fire, while the other attachments should compensate for the resulting drawbacks in recoil control, mobility, and precision. The sights are a matter of taste, as usual, but the reflector is considered standard among SMG fans for close range.

You also have different options when it comes to the grip and ammunition: The Polymer Grip will help you if the recoil is too much for you with the Taped Grip. The 64-round magazines provide continuous fire, but again, if you have a problem with recoil control, you can switch to .45 48 Round mags to stabilize things a bit.

Acrobatic and Quick are used to round out this setup, keeping you fresh and mobile in melee. In the meantime, however, the meta has said goodbye to Frenzy and the cultured Battle Royale user nowadays goes with Acrobatic.

In this configuration, the Welgun makes a perfect companion for long-range weapons. If you want to gear your loadout towards the SMG, Cold-Blooded, Ghost, and Combat Scout are strong perks. The Throwing Knife and Heartbeat Sensor complete a powerful Welgun class in Warzone Pacific.

Unlocking the Welgun in COD: Warzone

If you want to unlock the Welgun in Warzone Pacific, you have to complete an in-game challenge. This requires you to achieve ten kills while aiming with submachine guns within 15 games – in the hectic Battle Royale on Caldera, this is not that easy, since you often have to fire from the hip to survive. Completing the challenge is a bit easier in the Plunder mode, where you’re always allowed to jump back in.
