Best Weapons in Mullet Mad Jack, ranked

The weapons you use in Mullet Mad Jack can make or break your run. Some weapons might help you fill in the 10-second mark, while others may make you struggle. Picking and understanding the best weapons might be a chore. If you want to make your runs easier in Mullet Mad Jack, consider reading this guide on the best weapons ranked.

Mullet Mad Jack: Best weapons, ranked

Since the game is in early access, there are only a handful of weapons at your disposal. However, even with the limited number of guns and swords, you can immediately feel the impact. This list will go from worst to best, but note, that the worst isn’t even bad — other guns have qualities that outshine the worst.

Rail Gun

The rail gun weapon does a lot of damage, but it’s slow. If you take the Rail Gun and use it against a boss, the fight is going to go on for a while. However, the Rail Gun works well against normal enemies, but again, you have to time your shots. This weapon is highly accurate making headshots come easy as long as there’s no pressure being applied. I usually go for the heads of the enemies, so I pair this with the headshot upgrade to get more life back.

Machine Gun

To make quick and fast work of your enemies, consider using the Machine Gun. It is an SMG but very powerful. While it’s good for focus fire, it can easily clear a room if you have the right upgrades. I’ve used the Bigger Clips upgrade which adds more clips to the small magazine. The more shots you have, the faster the enemies go down, and that’s due to less reloading time. However, the small clip is it’s the only downside. Even if you don’t have the upgrade, you can still be devastating as long as you make your shots land.

Plasma Gun

The older brother of the Rail Gun had me confused at the start. I thought this gun was the Rail Gun, however, it’s even deadlier than its counterpart. Rather than shooting slow shots in a line, it’s an automatic weapon, making running and gunning easy and fun. There’s no overheating, so you can continuously fire and eat away health without losing tempo. However, while there are upsides with the weapon, the Plasma Gun will hit a wall. I had this equipped during a boss fight, and it took a while for him to die because it eats away slowly at the bigger enemy’s health.

Shotgun

When enemies are all up in your personal space, you need to make breathing room as fast as you can. The shotgun allows you to do just that. Most of Mullet Mad Jack has you moving forward and playing aggressively, and you need a weapon that matches that play style. This is where the shotgun comes in. As you move forward, one or two shots can down an enemy. The best part is that the shotgun is a threat to most of the bosses I’ve faced. It does take work to put them down with this weapon, but it’s way faster than the Plasma and the Machine Gun.

Mullet Mad Jack’s soundtrack is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I can’t wait till everyone can get the chance to play.
