Best open-world video games

Open-world video games seem to have become a massive trend in the past few years, and we are all for it! Open-world video games give you a feeling of immersiveness that is just incomparable. Over the years we have seen more and more impressive titles released and there are some that we just can’t stop coming back to. Open world games are especially impressive due to the amount of detail that goes into them, we really owe the developers credit for creating some of these fantastic games. If you’re feeling up to starting a new save game on an open-world game but you’re not quite sure what to play, then look no further because we have you covered! Today we have made a short list of the best open-world games for you to play today! Trust us when we say this list wasn’t easy to make, there are countless fantastic open-world video games that have been released and we wish we could mention them all. Instead, we have listed some of our favourites! It’s also worth mentioning that if you want to get the best experience out of these games then there’s no better way to enjoy them other than on a large TV screen, click here for TV wall mounting services!

Red Dead Redemption 2

There’s no way that you could make a list of the best open-world games and not mention Red Dead Redemption 2. This game was absolutely revolutionary for video games as a whole. When RD2 was released, everyone was blown away by it, from the graphics, to the story, to the gameplay. The amount of detail that rockstar put in and the polishing they did was just out of this world. It almost seemed like the game was real life. The game is set in 1899 in the wild west, where you play as an outlaw named Arthur Morgan. You are part of a criminal gang that robs, steals, and kills to survive. On the grand scale of things, the story is about 50 hours long in total, so it would be impossible to describe the game’s story in detail. We will say this though, it’s breath-taking. The game is full of action and emotional moments. Red Dead Redemption 2 really has you feeling as though you are actually in the game due to how real it feels. You should definitely give it a go.

Fallout 4

Fallout 4 is a prime example of how great Bethesda is. The Fallout franchise has been a fan favourite for a long time and the fourth instalment in the series is undoubtedly one of the best open-world video games ever made. The game is set in 2070 after the world has been destroyed by nuclear war. At the beginning of the game, you find yourself waking up in a pod that has kept you alive for decades but come to find that your son is missing. The game is based around your mission to find him. As you play through the story you start to uncover the secrets of the wasteland while learning new skills, meeting new people, and fighting new enemies. One thing a lot of fans liked about Fallout 4 is how the console versions of the game allow you to download mods, meaning there’s endless fun to be had. The mods are made by the community, so you’ll never run out of crazy new features. The story of Fallout four is brilliant, but what we love so much about the game is how you can continue to enjoy yourself after it’s finished.

Grand Theft Auto 5

Everyone’s heard of GTA 5, it’s probably one of the most iconic games of this generation. We have almost been waiting for a decade for the next instalment of Grand Theft Auto, but we don’t suspect we’ll be seeing it any time soon. Luckily for us, GTA 5 is so great that we are still playing it to this day. The story mode including Franklin, Trevor, and Michael is something that we will remember for years to come. It’s all about 3 criminals, with very interesting personalities. Each one of them is in a very different situation and has their own specific problems, but they are motivated to work together for one reason… Money. The 3 get heavily involved in organised crime in the fictional city of Los Santos and run into some crazy characters and land themselves in some ridiculous situations along the way. Grand Theft Auto 5 is amazingly fun without even following the story, simply driving around the city, and causing chaos is enough to keep anyone amused for hours at a time. GTA Is hands down one of the best open-world games that’s ever been made.

We hope you enjoyed our short list of the best open-world games. A couple of them may be slightly old but we feel as though they are timeless due to their quality. Why not give one a go? If you’ve tried them, why not revisit them?
